Why is he missing them? because he has no time or is he bailing out too early? I rewatched the game and I did not see any passing plays where Wilson stood in the pocket for an extended time. He seemed to have pressure in his face within a few seconds on almost every play.

Bails because he is going to get sacked if he doesn't and usually that is the precise moment WR's come open, however if RW is looking for an escape route, he can't look downfield too.

I personally think that the offensive struggles have been a combination of everything listed. I think that each problem sort of compounds on the other, what I mean by that is for example when the WRs can't get seperation, Wilson has to wait longer to get the ball out (making him look bad) and the offensive line breaks down (which makes the line look bad).

If I had to rank I would probably go like this:
1. WRs: They struggle to get separation. If the WRs got open at a better rate, Wilson could get rid of the ball quicker and that makes everyone else in the offense look better.
2. OL: The pass blocking is terrible and the run blocking is mediocre. The run blocking would look a lot worse if not for the fact that Marshawn Lynch compensates for it with his ridiculous natural ability. The line doesn't open up many holes but Lynch always makes the best of it. At least they are not as bad as they were in Lynch's first year here where he was getting hit behind the line of scrimmage on every play.
3. Play calling: Bevell makes some strange play calls at times. I'm not saying that he is holding us back from being elite but I think that the offense would be a tad better if Bevell called plays differently. There are times where he gets on a roll and will call an entire drive extremely well, then there are times when he looks like he just randomly selected plays out of the playbook and called them regardless of down or distance.
4. Wilson: I'm willing to give him a pass. I have no idea why he missed 2 or 3 slants and another few passes against the Saints but I'm sure he will work on it. I would be surprised if he does not rebound from the past few games.
5. Scheme: I'm not sure what the Seahawks could do differently as far as their scheme goes. Most of my concerns go back to the play call selection, not the scheme. The one thing I would change is I would work in a lot more play action to get Wilson some more time and possibly allow the WRs more time to get open. Plus I become livid whenever Bevell calls a 3rd and 5 with a shotgun, empty set when the Seahawks have such a great run game. When you don't put anyone in the backfield you completely remove the threat of a run, which is a disadvantage to Wilson. But as I said, this mostly goes back to the play calling, not the scheme.

If we are just looking at the last game performance then Wilson's game was what held the passing back the most. The pass protection was unusually decent and he had people to throw to. He just really didn't have a great game. If we are asking about the overall passing game all year then the general play of the WR's and line have been worse than Wilson. All are bigger parts of this than Bevell or the schemes.

We wonder why Wilson had a bad game, but how much of it is this philosophy? The more real game reps you have the better you should be. We don't pass nearly as much as other teams and it shows.

We have seen Wilson have an average and then a great game so who knows about this week.
