So Grimm had his first real stinker. They're trying to climb back into it though.

Seriously, Murphy is worse in the lineup than Young was last year. Automatic out.

And in the outfield ... PAWAM (wandering around). Double past him in the first inning it looks like he misjudged the line to cut the ball off by 30 feet and five minutes.

If there's a positive to take from this its that Grimm dug in and pitched 5 innings and gave them a chance to climb back into it until Frasor went to work. I like this kid. It would've been very easy for him to fold like a cheap suit.

^ yep

(Extra credit Romeo for working in the line "fold like a cheap suit". Haven't heard that one used in a long time. Don't think about Mens Wearhouse or Jos A. Banks when you think of 'inexpensive' suits. You aren't old enough to know about Robert Hall and their $29.95 cheap suits off the rack. Good one!)

I wouldnt say Grimm pitched horribly. He was let down on a couple bad/boneheaded plays in the 1st inning.

In all reality, it should have been 1-0 or possibly 0-0 after the first inning.
But hey, A's and Angels lost...so they didnt lose anything in the standings.

Would be nice to see the Angels back 10+ games though.

Soto will start again tonight due to AJ's day to day ... and Soto is 6 for 18 facing Lohse.

Kyle Lohse vs. Batters - Baseball-Reference.com

Kinsler, Andrus and Murphy are a combined 0 for 6 against him. Baker 1 for 5 ... Beltre 3 for 11.

Murphy will start again tonight ... Wash needs to drop him to the ninth spot behind Holland. At least then Holland can bunt with someone on base in front of him.

When I first read this I was thinking, "folded like a cheap suit"?? Isn't that supposed to be folded like a lawn chair or umbrella? I mean, who folds a suit and if they do does a cheap suit actually fold differently than an expensive suit? Anyhow, did some research and low and behold, cheap suit was the first pick of the masses when asked to finish the sentence, folded like a....... Learn somethig every day.

Another authority ...

What is the origin of folds like a cheap suit

Says: Correct usage: "all over him like a cheap suit" rather than folding like a cheap suit.

I salute Romeo for providing the inspiration for this valuable dialog.

Lol. I was wondering if some of the younger guys would get that. My dad used to say it all the time.
