So he has improved dramatically is what you are saying?

At his current rate of improvement I wonder what his ceiling could be? Not many players add 5% to the shooting percentage every week in the league, he could be legendary.

I'll be the one to defend him since I'm the only one whose watched him play. One, he is coming off the bench, two, he's out of shape and three, he's a rookie. He has incredible potential. You can't teach the things he brings including defense which you choose not to bring up for obvious reasons. He could very well be a bust but only a fool would label a player a bust after barely playing 5 games. The Cavs offense as a whole is a joke right now he's the least of anyone's worries.

Besides, who should they have drafted ? Alex Len? Noel? Another guard? Bennett was the best fit and I'd draft him again in hindsight.

Meanwhile in Orlando Oladipo is throwing down 360 dunks and pounding his all around stats.

Meanwhile in Philly Michael Carter Williams is schooling veteran point guards, and is almost getting quadruple doubles.

But Bennett clearly has the upside just give it 3-4 years. :laugh3:

This thread will be saved. I'll be the one to defend him since the only one whose watched him play. One, he is coming off the bench, two, he's out if shape and three, he's a rookie. He could very well be a bust but only a fool would label a player a bust after barley playing 5 games. The Cavs offense as a whole is a joke right now he's the least of anyone's worries.

So he shows up out of shape, can't win a starting job...he's off to a great start.

Wow you would have drafted Michael carter Williams with the #1 pick while you had kyrie Irving? You would make a great gm! :wtf2:

Never though MCW would be good. Its just a thought that this draft was all over the place there was no number 1 pick imo. I mean Olynyk and Shroeder look like they could be steals of the draft. The Cavs should of traded back. I knew Victor was going to be good though with his work ethic.

People should realize the cavs had the luxury of drafting a player with the #1 to come off the bench. Most teams expect their #1 to carry the team. They already have 3 players they are grooming from the last 2 drafts. They've been tanking for quite a while and it's paid off with some serious youth and depth. Now they just need to play.

They would've been better off drafting Oladipo, imo. But it's all hindsight I guess. This draft was really difficult because there was no clear number 1 choice, just a giant crapshoot really.

I agree with the part about the Cavs trading back - that draft was somewhat weak and didn't have many sure fire players - I think Anthony Bennett will be a solid rotational player for years to come but I don't think he'll be as great as what some people think

When you come to camp out of shape, that's not a good start

They need to produce, not just play - I don't think I would call that a luxury - they still needed all the talent they can get - you can't waste the number one pick just to have a guy come off the bench - you take the best available player - you can't assume that all of those guys are going to fully develop and turn into the players you think they're going to be - you try to fill your team with the most talented, best available players in the draft and if you have logjams at certain positions, that's better than having no talent, you can trade guys later on and get specific positional needs

No one thought MCW would be good its the fact that he went later in the draft. No one knew who was going to be good in this draft. You had a lot of offers to trade down. Lots of people wanted Oladipo but you guys didnt need a guard. People were saying Alex Len could be the number 1 over all pick. McLemore was projected 4-5 fell to 7. Noel fell far as well. The Twolves really wanted Dipo you could of traded back and got something good for that #1 pick. Instead you took a role player which is most of the players in last years draft.

Should have been McLemore. He will be the best out of this draft class.

.....................................

Better than Michael Carter Willimas, or Victor Oladipo? I dont know what your obsession with McLemore is but hes lazy. He didnt want to do team workouts. He was out of shape in those workouts. Every time he gets the ball he needs to shoot. He doesnt always play 100%, and he falls asleep on defense at times. Also cant really score on his own that well he can shoot fade aways and pump fake for a pull up but hes not an ideal slasher.

Michael Carter Williams and Victor Oladipo= the best in this draft class.

Victor Oladipo is such a hard worker, and probably spends twice the amount of time in the gym as McLemore. Oladipo is also the better athlete. With Victor Oladipos work ethic and his athleticism he can be a star in this league.
