So you want the nfl to make money and could care less at all that the better teams are sitting at home instead of being in the playoffs? Do you work for the nfl? Wtf are these logics? The nfl will make money regardless they are and will always be the best sport out there.

Yet we still punish better teams and reward the shittier ones. Cardinals played in the toughest division and are getting punished cuz they didn't win there division. Yet the 8-7-1 packers are in because of there shitty division.

Yet this is ok with everyone? Lol let's throw all logic out the window that an 8-7-1 record is better than 10-6. Right right. It's acceptable because this is the way it has always been right? Lol give me a break.

You're right about it not being fair; however, being fair is not what matters to the NFL.

You must be another one that works for the nfl cuz you want it to make money. Yet you agree it's not perfect. Well why the hell is it not perfect? Why do we reward Shittier teams and punish better teams?

That's unacceptable. The nfl will make money regardless.

A tema is 10-6 sitting at home and a 8-7-1 team is not. Lol gtfo

Yes, and the NFL is still making money whether the cardinals are in the playoffs or not. This issue is more complex than you think.

Are fans going to stop watching because a 10 win team didn't make the playoffs? Fuck no.

I wonder if AZ fans were pissed when their 9-7 team went to the Super Bowl and the 11-5 Patriots sat at home watching the playoffs.

I agree. But that shits in the past. This is why it's unacceptable and should be changed because we can change it. Let's not act like it can't be even more perfect.

Again if you think this logic below is good because "it's the way it has always been" and "the nfl is making money" than that garbage. Even if it happens barely it enough. I'll just leave it down here

It sounds like some of the 49ers fans are going to boycot. If you win the superbowl, I'm sure those fans won't accept the trophy since the playoff format wasn't fair to the Cardinals.

I'm honestly fine with it the way it is. No changes needed.

You do realize that wouldn't change regardless considering they are in separate conferences, right?

Of course, but why wouldn't the logic extend to just having the 12 best teams go regardless of conference? That would be the logical next step right.

Why is it okay to you? Why is it ok that a team with a crappier record gets in over a team with a Better record?

And what's your solution? What's your logical idea to fix this great injustice of the 7th best record getting in the playoffs instead of the 6th best?

While not necessarily relevant in this case (because the NFC west is so strong) but you can't always say X team won more games, so they are better than Y. Not when you play teams in your own division more, and not when schedules aren't the same. I'm not saying I like the current system (as my previous post states), but it's not always so cut and dry.

NFC West teams seem to forget their own recent history

Seattle hosted a playoff game versus a 12 win defending champion at (7-9)

Arizona hosted TWO playoff games at (9-7) including inexplicably the NFC title game both times to a team with a better record.

Honestly I'm no damn expert but there's many ways they can do it. Keep the damn divisions and seed by best record regardless of winning divisions. You have these bullshit teams falling back on there Divisions cuz they can't shake it on the outside of the division.

Keep it the way it is but if you win you division and still weren't good enough to pass a team like the cards. Like the packers for example guess what your out. And seed the home games for playoff with best records not divisional winners.

Why should we punish shittier teams? Why is it ok to win a shitty division and be granted a golden ticket.

I don't think many here would say those instances should have happened either. All the more reason to fix it IMO.

I'll just say this boys.

Cardinals needed to beat us and hope the bucs beat the saints for the playoffs.

While on the other hand the 7-7-1 packers and and 8-7 bears fought it out in a game where all they needed to do was win.

The 10-6 cardinals and the 8-7-1 packers.

System is screwed up.

Who is forgetting?!? The fact that a 7-9 SEA team was in the playoffs a few years ago was laughable. That is exactly the idiocy that change would affect. Just because it benefited the NFC West at one point doesn't mean we as Niner fans FORGOT or would fight for stupidity to continue.

I know that many on this board were not ok with a 7-9 team being in the playoffs. In fact, I know that I was embarrassed that the NFC West champ that year was 7-9. So please don't make this as if we are championing a cause that suddenly sprouted now. It's just gotten ridiculous on many levels this season.
