A few years ago I was in a slow pitch softball league and they all shifted heavily to the right when I was up to bat. Despite me proving on several occasions that in slow pitch you can hit the ball wherever you damn well please, they never gave up the belief that left handed hitters absolutely can only hit it in a single direction no matter what. I must have been a statistical anomaly to these people that just blew their damn minds.
Exactly right. Any major league hitter can sit back and hit the ball to the other way. They can all bunt. It's a choice. They know that ten sac bunts may equal more wins than one HR, but the HR equals more dollars on their contract

My opinion on the discussion isnt about his greatness bc I never actually saw him play (at least where I was old enough to know the game). The question is what Erik Williams do we take, we have to take his full career into voting. So you take his early days where he was one of the best OL, add his nastiness with his agility and then we take after the accident where we he relied more on strength and nastiness than his agility. At least that’s my opinion, you also have to take his prime into question but I dont believe we ever saw his TRUE prime. Tough call, my opinion (having never seen him play) is he was borderline HOF, but you could say he is better than some HOF’r, but should not be judged better than most or all of the great RT’s of all-time. We never got to see his full potential, that sucks but it is what it is.
The reason I go pre accident is simple..when you select Adrian Peterson in a Mock, you expect credit for AD...not the dude that will be getting 8 carries a game for the Skins. It is tricky with EW, Jerome Brown, Sean Taylor, Bo....only thing I will say about Williams is that he wasn't overrated...he just want the sane guy after his accident

True, I meant it as we only got to see a couple years of his dominance, we saw other guys (HOF’rs) for 8-10 years of dominance. There were a ton of underrated players that had a couple years of dominance and then fell off the map, longevity is part of greatness imo. Injuries ruin careers, I just see this as he became injury prone so he had a shorter prime. Still a great player but nowhere near what he could have been.
