There's a good team somewhere in that Portugal squad but this isn't the right manager to get it out and Ronaldo's presence as anything other than a super sub is a problem. He also bitched about being taken out today. I could easily see this team blow what should be a manageable R16 matchup for the third straight tournament.

More credit where it's due, I'm sure he's seething but publicly at least Ronaldo did everything right today. He ran up and celebrated every goal, he came on without hassle, he wasn't pouting, and he did move well in the last 20 minutes of a very much decided game.

If they're lucky enough to get through to the SF or farther that role will earn him way more credit than anything he could do as a starter at this point.

One last thing, Pepe's now scored at 2 Euro's and 2 World Cups. I can't think of another CB with a goalscoring record like that - Ramos has 23 goals for Spain and none of them came during a tourney.
