Also, I didn't know this about Graham Leggat...

He also held the record for fastest hat-trick in English top flight football history when he scored three times in three minutes against Ipswich while with Fulham. That record was broken during the 2014-15 season.

by Sadio Mane of Saints.

Speaking of Mane, both he and Wanyama look to be staying with Saints (at least that's what Koeman said yesterday). Today is a new day (lol)

/Mane set up all three goals against Norwich on Sunday

Reports from Spain say #MUFC missed the transfer deadline by 1 minute to sell David de Gea to Real Madrid. Huge blow for Manchester United.

I guess ManU could have used a little Fergie time :D

Latest is that United e-mailed the transfer documents to Real to send to La Liga but they were password-encrypted and by the time they could open them the deadline had passed :L

Not like they had all fucking summer to get this done, right? Or that this is the second year in a row these two teams couldn't get a transfer through in time (last year it was Coentrao).

And now reports are coming out that Real isn't going to appeal to the RFEF and the De Gea deal is off. Perez to speak shortly.

Martial's done - 80 fucking million euros. He doesn't turn 20 until December.

As L'Equipe put it, "More expensive than Zidane".

Full Real Madrid Statement:

1. Manchester United didn’t open any path of negotiation for the registration rights to David De Gea until yesterday morning.

2. Real Madrid, despite the difficulties associated with completing a deal of this type on the final day of registration, accepted the initiating of these conversations.

3. When Manchester United entered into these negotiations yesterday morning they did so subject to being able to reach an agreement with Real Madrid player Keylor Navas, in order that he would join the British club from this season, and informed that they were in contact with the representatives of said player.

4. Real Madrid and Manchester United reach a rapid agreement on the transfer of both players. After the drafting of the relevant contractual documents required and in order to proceed with sufficient time to process both the FIFA Transfer Matching System (TMS) entry time and LFP regristration, Real Madrid forwarded the contracts to Manchester United at 13:39 Spanish time.

5. Manchester United sent its comments on the contracts eight hours later, at 21:43 Spanish time, including minor modifications. Not being relevant, all changes were accepted immediately by Real Madrid, with the intention to register the players with both TMS and the LFP.

6. After the signatures of the players De Gea and Keylor Navas, Real Madrid sent the English club said contracts signed at 23:32 Spanish time. We then awaited the receipt of the final documents signed by Manchester United .

7. Manchester United reached a final agreement with the representatives of Keylor Navas at 23:53 Spanish time and it was at that time when the contracts were sent to the player to be signed.

8. Manchester United entered the TMS data from the operation of David de Gea, not those of Keylor Navas, at 00:00 Spanish time, simultaneously referring to the signed Real Madrid contracts. Real Madrid received the full documentation at 00:02 and tried to access the TMS but it was already closed.

9. At 00:26 Spanish time, the computer system of Fifa TMS makes an invitation to Real Madrid to fill out the data for the player David de Gea, given that the deadline for registration in England remains open to this day [Tuesday]. Real Madrid decided to refer the contract to the LFP, knowing that the deadlines had expired.

10. In short, Real Madrid has done everything necessary, and at all times, to implement these two transfers.

No matter what happened, this is incredibly fucking stupid on United's part. De Gea is going to leave in June now when his contract expires, United misses out on 30 million euros and Madrid will get their man for no transfer fee. They also still have Navas, who will be a little upset but will still play his guts out to earn a good contract when he does eventually transfer and United will have to play De Gea knowing they'll lose him for fuck all next summer since their only alternative is Sergio Romero.

Arsenal fans are planning a protest outside the Emirates as the deadline approaches to protest the fact their $400 tickets don't provide enough revenue to purchase better players. Can't say I blame them.

It really is a shame. Do the owner's have financial troubles? Is it a New York Mets situation? Because all things point to the fact they should be able to purchase players.

Just curious, is $400 the average ticket price to attend an Arsenal game?

No. They make a fucking fortune, they just pocket all the profit and then complain about the other teams' big spending when they finish 4th and lose in the second round of the Champions League to a mediocre French team.

Liverpool loaned Tiago Ilori to Aston Villa. I guess they were impressed by Lovren's performance in their 0-3 loss to title contenders West Ham.

Hope Ilori knocks it out at VP. Would love for him to be starting in front of Anthony Lopes in France next summer.
