LukeWileman: TSN's @KristianJack reports Jermain Defoe is currently in England

He was recovering at home. He might want out, but he won't get $90,000 a week from a PL team and QPR just signed Borini so if Redknapp's out I'm guessing he has no options left.

Well, maybe Arsenal.

I don't understand why they wouldn't have just found another striker. Defoe is decent for MLS, shit for any top-tier league. QPR isn't staying up on 32 year old Defoe's attacking prowess.

He must be petrified of playing Champions League football.

Also, how the entire summer came and went without United buying a centre back is beyond me (unless they consider Rojo a CB, which they shouldn't). Or even a holding midfielder. Not that i'm against signing Falcao, because you can't rely on a healthy season from RVP and regardless had United scored another 10-15 goals last season they probably get into the CL and Moyes still has a job, but I don't know how you can spend almost 200 million pounds and not be a contender for the league title and at this point United is nowhere near a contender.

i wonder if Argentina fans are as psyched about beating Germany today as Broncos fans were about beating the Seahawks in preseason

Argentina beat Germany 4-2. This totally makes up for 2 months ago.

I debated whether to put this here or the freakin' neat thread, but I discovered a new game at the PNE fairgrounds this year. All you do is look for people wearing Brazil jerseys on the grounds and loudly shout "7-1". You get some exercise and best of all, it's free.

50% would probably put their portugal shirts back on

/on that note ... kelowna's love for the canucks has been thoroughly replaced by a love of the seahawks ... big time
