To me that's kind of comparing apples and oranges because Ben was a first year with 15 to 20 years left and plenty of time to become a super-star or an all star. Andre as good and as fun he was -played the first game in the NBA which took 11 years to get there - I am happy for the guy but the very best he will have 4-6 years in the NBA which is still plenty of time to save up some $$$$ for an easy retirement. I hope Andre gets a chance to showcase his talents for the regular season though - given the choice - I would take Simmons over Andre

Yup -- I was wrong.

But if you read posts -- I caught crap for even suggesting that Casey had an "outside chance" of winning.

I am pretty sure it was a legit, earnest post.

I could be wrong. Maybe TLF has just been messing with us all along. But based on his history I am going with real post.

All rookie team was announced.

No surprises. Except maybe that Tatum wasn't a unanimous pick(one guy didn't vote for him)

Simmons, Mitchell, Tatum, Kuzma, Markenen

2nd team

Balls, John Collins, Bogdonavich, Josh Jackson, and Dennis Smith J.

Glad Josh Jackson didn't get punished too hard for his terrible start (playing out of position and early coaching change), because he was baaad those first couple months or so... really turned a corner after the new year, looked like the two way threat w/high upside that we thought he'd be when we took him last June. Excited to see him, Booker & our 1st pick grow together.

Kuzma got 93 out of 100 possible 1st team votes as well. This was a pretty easy year to separate the 1st team from the 2nd...especially with Simmons being held back a grade lol.

Last night they pointed out that tatum is the first/bestrookie since Kareem and Baylor to score in the playoffs. Looks like he will surpass them if he makes it to the finals.

I'm pretty sure there were 3 rookies who scored in the playoffs this year.

Did you mean to put a number next to that?

Most points scored in playoffs in rookie season

Interesting stat ... but it really depends on the team and how deep they went in the playoffs. I'm sure Kareem's team only won 1 series in his rookie year.

Kareem played in 10 games. Won in 5 games the first round, lost in 5 games in the second round. Only 4 teams made the playoffs from each conference back then (only 14 teams in the league).

In Baylor's rookie season, only 3 teams from each conference made the playoffs (8 teams in the league). He played in 13 games (won 2-1 in first round, 4-2 in WCF, lost 4-0 in finals).
