The Petty Wars Post Season Edition....lol
The back and forth jabs have been entertaining, while some fans of each team are very much against the other's ROY candidate and say why they shouldn't win. It's easier as an outsider to not get angry about it and just enjoy watching 2 great rookies. Now next season when Giles wins ROY as a 2nd year rookie I'll have to defend him.

CJ took a minute too.

He averaged 5.3 and 6.8ppg his first two seasons.
i know i saw some analytical type approach that showed taller PGs had a higher learning curve so to speak before they broke out, compared to shorter PGs.

Really?

You would think they had an advantage because they could see over the top of most of their opponents.

But, maybe that's just in Football?

yeah, this was probably a few years ago, but it mentioned taller pgs had started off slower than smaller pgs.

Kind of makes sense if you really think about it.

To make it as a smaller PG, you have to be ridiculously good. Players with that skill set are often closer to NBA ready. THe taller PGs are often your "athletic projects" like Kris Dunn, DeAaron Fox, etc.

True.

There is a reason guys like Magic, Arvydos Sabonis, Simmons, LeBron are deemed special.

It's not the norm to be able to do those kinda things at that size.

I think it's time to recognize Jokic as one of those guys as well.

Outside of Simmons, who in today's NBA do we see ass a tall PG?

Wall, Lonzo, MCW....anyone else?

What's the minimum 6'5 and above?

You watching the 76ers?

This is a good test for Markelle with Ben in foul trouble.
yeah, it'll be interesting to see what the playoff rotation turns out to be.

so mitchell is saying he acknowledges Ben is better and the only way he can win is if you don't count ben as a rookie, while also providing the definition that Ben is a rookie? what a guy.

I don't care about the trash talking at all but this one was a bit of a reach by Mitchell. But amusing that he was able to get the hoodie made on such short notice.

Gentleman, we have a new entry into the ROY race.....

Hell of a terrific story...

How cool is that? Apparently, the guy was supplementing his G-league income by also being a math teacher/tutor.

Waits 10 years, finally gets his shot and responds with the game of his life. I would love to see the Lakers, or really any team, give him a 2-3 year contract. Or at least a tryout. If that didn't work out, one of the commentators last night suggested a team hiring him as a coach.

I think it’s all pretty funny. Mitchell’s twitter response was sort of weak but I give him credit for the rookie hoodie, even if Simmons technically qualifies under that definition.
