I agree. I am sure someone will pay him though. That is why the Lakers should view him as an expendable piece when looking to the future.

I really like Randle. He brings an edge the Lakers need, handles the ball well, is faster than most PF's and does a nice job playing the 5 when the Lakers go small.

Unfortunately for him, he's smallish for a PF and Nance and Kuzma are both more talented and likely to be better players when all is said and done.

I always miss the good stuff.

... and shame on you for excluding Roberson and that late in his career mental midget, Nick Anderson.

Sorry. Will do better next time!

Lakers played 20 games this year and Lonzo did not shoot a single ft in 10 of those games.

I think he's shot only 28 for the season. Considering his percentage...I'm good with that. lol

I just looked at his College numbers as well. Just never get to the free throw line for some reason. At UCLA he only avg 2.7 free throws per game

It's because he is a true pass first point guard, so he's not shooting a lot to begin with. Add in the fact that he tends to shoot outside more, most of his drives are of the "drive and dish" variety and it's not all that surprising.

I'd also wager that, given his shooting percentage, teams aren't exactly worrying about stopping his shot.

28 in 20 games still seems low though, even with only averaging 2.7 free throws in college. I'd expect that if he starts hitting at least a semi-respectable percentage of his shots, his free throws will increase a little because teams will be more concerned about stopping his shot.

I would say that it is also because he doesn't seem to like to handle the ball a lot. He prefers quick distributions so he doesn't even get the non-shooting fouls like a reach in because he dishes the ball so quickly.

Hmmm.

Good point.

I always looked at it as him " pushing the ball " to get on the break.

But, maybe he is playing a little hot potato because he's so shook about his shot.

If things get out of hand quickly tonight, I hope Walton has a quick leash.

The Warriors are the last Team you want to play 4 on 5 because your Rookie has no confidence in his offense.

Might I add, this guys lack of aggression is the complete antithesis of what we complain about with Westbrook, Kobe, Melo.

Can't have it both ways.

I'd rather have the guy who believes the next 10 are gonna fall over the one thinking " please God don't make me have to launch a shot or take a free throw ".

What I find strange is that Lonzo continues to rely heavily on 3 point shots. IIRC, he took 7 shots in their last game. 6 of them were 3 pointers. Why isn't he taking more short or mid range jumpers or driving to the basket, ever?

Constantly missing 3s can't possibly be helping his game.

Because he seems more afraid to shoot free throws than wide open 3's.

They aren't even guarding him out there.

No fighting thru screens, just concede the shot.

At the line, he has to much time to think and Lord knows what some of these players and fans are saying to the kid. He needs to learn to block it out, or use it as fuel like Kobe or even Reggie Miller.

He looks so resigned that he's going to miss.
