Good to see the Sox claw from behind and pull out a hard fought W. That's one of the big differences between this group and teams from seasons past. Once we fell behind, we way more often than not failed to catch up, especially late in a game. This club has no quit in it. One thing tho, as well as we've been swinging the bats, it sure does seem like we leave more than our fair share on base. I don't have any such stats in front of me, but I'll guess we're right up there at or very near the top with those LOB numbers.

I'm becoming more convinced by the day that this season will come to an end with no ending. Manfred has already conceded that even if the season is to play out, the chances of teams who have had to cancel whole series of getting to make up those games are all but shot. So at best we're talking about uneven number of games played, which will obviously have a detrimental effect on certain teams when it comes to qualifying for the playoffs.

I've said all along that I was kinda looking at this patchwork of a season as a glorified Spring training, with the only difference being the stats count. In the meantime I'll continue to follow the Good Guys and root for them as long as there are games being played. I'll tell you this much, my guess is the only folks who are more concerned about whether MLB can get thru this season is the NFL. Because something tells me that as goes baseball, so goes football.
Be a bummer to lose that first year of the window

I've noticed the last couple of games that after strikeouts with the bases empty, teams have not been doing around the horn.
Not allowed this year, Covid.

They actually have a rule - if 3 or more players touch a ball during a play - the ball will be exchanged for a new one.

Giolito has his worked cut out for him tonite and will need to be at his best to keep the streak going. His counterpart, Brandon Woodruff, is coming off an absolute gem that he tossed against the Pirates last week. 6.1 innings of one hit, shutout ball, with 10 Ks and only 1 BB. And Woodruff is about to face a team who continues their lovefest with striking out. This one's gonna be a toughie.

Eh. Woodruff is alright but this Milwaukee lineup stinks. I don't suspect we'll light up the scoreboard but if Giolito is himself - we shouldn't need to.

Is there where I make a point by saying Dylan Cease will probably pitch a gem vs. the Pirates?
