Not really. They have a stud riding the bench most games and Vancouver fans have called for his head on multiple occasions. If I'm Edmonton I'm giving some serious thought to trading for him.

Columbus needs a goalie but same thing they won't eat all that salary. Maybe it would be a good start with luongo and jack Johnson to keeping nash?

I doubt he would go to either, but if one of these teams were to acquire Luongo and then make a strong push for Suter, overpay him, that's a pretty big turnaround.

Well if the biggest goalie contract ever signed being traded 2 years later isn't shocking, I don't know what is.

Also, I get that Corey looks like he is going to be the next big thing, BUT he's never started more than 28 games in a season, is that enough to make that jump to trade Lou? Also, I wonder how much money Quick is going to get this off season.

Exactly...just because he's willing to waive teh NTC doesn't mean he wanst to play in "exile"

how many "top" teams really need a goalie though? maybe the islanders (not a top team) but i doubt they would go full circle and are content on the youth movement.

The New Jersey Devils. Also, Chicago isn't happy with Crawford from what I hear. Toronto would make the most sense since they're rolling in money.

Yea Toronto does have the money but the media would eat him up. He needs to go somewhere where hockey isn't the main focus....much like when he was with Florida. This way there isn't that off ice pressure on him.
I just don't think he has the backbone to sustain the pressure from the media, which is why he would decline going to Toronto.

I don't think the Devils would go after Bobby Lou with that rich contract. Their main focus should be Parise, who is going to get several great offers from other teams if we can't lock him up before he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Yeah I don't see him wanting to go back to Canada. The devils have some youth in goal who I would like to see maybe as a backup next year? Bobby Lou doesn't have many choices

Just BSing here and will probably be accused of being out of my mind but Vancouver just got punked by LA because of the their overrated goalie and lack of offense (mainly cause Daniel Sedin was hurt) but if you win the presidents trophy you shouldnt be leaning on one guy right? Anyway, we need a younger, proven goalie and they could use a game-breaking sniper, could a Kovy-for-Luongo trade help both teams? contracts are both outrageously long and I'd rather give that sort of money to a goalie.

I brought this up yesterday before he announced he would waive his NTC. I still like my idea, they get what they need, we get what we need and the contracts are pretty much a wash, too long for either but like I said I'd rather have the goalie for that long in his prime than a scorer.

6 months ago I would have moved Kovy for anyone. This season has changed my mind.
