I enjoyed the our arena video. It really brought back good memories and you know I admire old stone Sloan
It had a lot of nice flash backs, across all eras.

Why aren't you finding a parody Twitter account for this post? Maybe a "JazzUniverse" SN.

Or "JoesNation".

I like how the thread title has a reference to Energy Solutions Arena.

I generally don't care too much about what corporate sponsor it is. Most arenas are sponsored by banks and airlines, they're not that different from each other. If I'm a Hawks fan, am I more likely to buy insurance from State Farm?

If I'm a Jazz fan, am I going to now choose Delta over other airlines most of the time?

Winning is what creates good memories, not the corporate sponsor name.

I do think it's funny that most Portland locals still call it the Rose Garden, and not the Moda Center.

Also, Vivint makes good products, so they have my support, for as long as they wanted to be a sponsor.

No, but I’m more likely to go to the Delta Center than the Vivint Smart Home Arena for a game.

I think most people period call it the Rose Garden, locals or not. I don’t even know what Moda does, let alone that it wa the name of the Blazers stadium.

They also had some rogue salesmen (plural) that in order to get financing for their alarm systems used people with the same name, but different social security numbers to secure the financing. I don’t know how exactly they did it because I don’t know how to look at someone else’s social app, all I know is that there was a description on how they were doing it.

That didn’t become a problem as long as the people paid, but when they didn’t pay, people started discovering that they had that on their credit profile. They settled it, and I don’t know with who and how much and I don’t know if this has anything to do with them not renewing their sponsorship.

So you would not go to an arena to see your favorite team play, because of the arena name?

Wow. It's too bad they ruined a company's reputation, for an indeterminate period of time.

So you would not go to an arena to see your favorite team play, because of the arena name?

Yeah. Unless it were free.

Seriously though, I have been planning on going to a Jazz game at some point anyway, but now one of the reasons will be because it’s the Delta Center again.

How long do you think people called it the Oakland Arena, until using the sponsor name?

That's what the name was, from 1966 - 2006.

Then from October 2006-2019, it was the Oracle Arena. So how long after 2006 did people actually start calling it Oracle, and not the Oakland Arena?

Portland and Oakland were the last two refrain from having sponsors.

Have you gone to a game with every incarnation of sponsor?

Yes, but I’m never again going to a Jazz game at Vivint. I’m taking a stand.

Not sure why it is on two different lines, but that’s OK. It’s different than it was before.
