What a load of bullshit this guy still musters to try to cover his and their ass. The fact is LEbron, nobody did shit against Dallas.

The Lakers are now in position 6 in the Western Conference, one half game behind Dallas. They lead the Clip Joint by a full game in the Pacific Division. Lakers better get on their horses as Charlotte comes into LA tomorrow. No opponent is now a gimme game, but because the Lakers are playing like shit these days, anybody can beat them.

Articles are beginning to emerge suggesting that Brandon Ingram is heading back to the Lakers. Pelinka may be putting together a package the Pelicans would jump at and we shall see if these rumors gain any traction by the trade deadline which is less than a month away.

Looks like you were and are right, DJ about the DRuss trade. Of the two that came back, DFS is the better player but maybe Milton will get going.

Hachimura, Vandy, Vincent, JHS and a lottery protected 1st rounder for Vucevic and Ball works

Adding DFS, Vuc, and Ball addresses our needs.....DFS is a super sub off the bench, Vucevic can start next to AD and adds rebounding and shooting from our C, and Ball upgrades our backup PG position....

Except that Vuc doesn't defend and Ball can't stay healthy, sure.

I don't think JJ will want to start two bigs together except for matchup purposes. That's too much salary to spend for what would end up a bench big IMO. Plus, starting 2 bigs forces Lebron to defend quicker SFs, which won't end well generally.

I think Bruce Brown should be their main (non-center) target. They could potentially add Olynyk into the deal. Would prefer Poetl, but he's a bit too expensive to make it work comfortably.

A Nick Richards package could ideally include Bridges (but he doesn't help the backcourt defense). Maybe Josh Green?

Looks like everyone saw the same pile of dogshit Lakers game last evening.

That game was lost in two quick stretches of horrible 3 pt defense. 9 straight pts by Klay at the end of the 2nd, then a 12 pt run (3 by Hardy and 1 by Grimes I think?) in the second half. Each was a defensive breakdown of sorts. One player switching while the other (Rui) is unaware, players trying to redirect the roll (Christie and Gabe) and getting pushed inside instead of covering the perimeter shooter, Lebron covering an already covered rim on a break, leaving a wide open 3, etc.

You can argue they shouldn't be in a close game outside those lapses, which is true. The leftover Mavs simply executed better. This wasn't a total no show like the Miami loss, the Mavs simply have far better depth than the Lakers and Reaves had a pretty awful game. If anything, having Kyrie and Luka out actually improves the Mavs defense.

Lebron and AD still had decent performances overall. Lebron was 18/10/9 with only 2 TOs, but only 1-4 from 3. AD was 21/12 with 2 blocks, but missed a lot of shots in close and shot 7 of 18 as a result.

The real negatives were off nights / bad performances from Reaves and Rui, along poor coverage at the 3 pt line.. Offensive rebounds continue to be an on-going issue. Gabe's return was another example of his early season all-cardio, no-stats performances. Jackson Hayes continues to be tall and bouncy and not much else.

Yep, I think everyone sees the same problems with player performances and bench players. It is up to Pelinka and management to trade the dead weight and get some people into the roster that can help on a consistent basis. If attitudes and behaviors by LeBron are driving the overall attitudes of any of these weakness then they should encourage him to retire next season and then move on with a rebuild. If that indeed is the case.

The game against the Hornets tonight is postponed because of the fires in LA, I reckon. don;t know when they are going to play that scheduled game.
