And Redick might be in over his head because he cannot get this team to play consistent defense.

Vincent still hasn't scored. Why are we keeping this guy around?? Put his ass in a package and send him off in a trade for a point guard and/or a center or both.

The lead is now 17. The Lakers can't seem to defend the three-point shot nearly every time down the floor.

Brony is in. Let's see if he can score and play defense in the minute and a half left.

Lead is now 21 and this is an official ass-whippin when the Lakers went home early late in the Third Quarter.

The Lakers continue to score less points than they give-up. A reflection on a team that does not want to play Defense with any consistency. Period!!

Wild Turkey nailed it in the NBA reg season thread....Hach had 1 rebound in 26 minutes last night and doesn't play much defense. Trade his ass, JHS and a lotto protected 1st to the Bulls for Vucevic who the Bulls can't seem to move. Vuc isn't a much better defender than Hach but he does rebound the ball. And that is a huge issue for us.....outside of AD and Bron.

Plus, Vuc can shoot and score more than Hach....when needed. That wouldn't be his primary role with us.

Yea. I get it that Hachimura has now pretty much demonstrated his real MO and like DRuss, expecting him to change is also pretty much useless. Time to move the dead weight. Also, Redick has to somehow get this team attitude of leaving early with Quarters, Halftime, and end of games out the door. I don't know who encourages it, but this team quits en masse when they figure they have lost the game. It is an undercurrent that somebody continues to foster and should be eradicated. I have an idea who but that is a matter yet to be established.

Last night was a good example. The Lakers were in the game until about near the end of Third Quarter and then like somebody flipped a switch and everyone started to stop playing defense and missing shots and then Dallas just slowly but assuredly just took over. The Fourth Quarter became this disaster leading to the Lakers betting beat by 20+ points. This has got to go.

So Pelinka should put together a package of players like Hachimura, JHS, Vincent, and maybe Vanderbilt or Wood and say a First Rounder and ship it out the door for a Center, a Point Guard, and maybe bringing back Ingram. Make a move or two, Pelinka.

I don't think Vucevic is the answer, not enough defense. Plus, he's unlikely to start next to AD unless you're keeping DFS on the bench (and as a result forcing Lebron to defend smaller/quicker players).

Richards, Kessler, maybe Poetl (a Poetl/Brown package perhaps?). Even Robert Williams is a better fit than Vuc IMO, although I doubt Portland trades with the Lakers.

That "switch" is often when DFS comes off the floor for Rui. If Rui isn't making 3s or cutting to the basket for Lebron to find him, he's not doing much more than the occasional corner crash offensive rebound.

When the Lakers went to their defensive lineup (Gabe, Christie, DFS, AD) they don't have enough defense. They need a playmaker that can defend, even if only in a reserve role.

Weird that Milton didn't get any run last night, especially with Reaves really struggling. I guess Gabe got those minutes, but with Reddish maybe he could've helped?

Hachimura, Vandy, Vincent, JHS and a lottery protected 1st rounder for Vucevic and Ball works

Adding DFS, Vuc, and Ball addresses our needs.....DFS is a super sub off the bench, Vucevic can start next to AD and adds rebounding and shooting from our C, and Ball upgrades our backup PG position....

Vandy and JHS aren't even playing.....

Vuc and Ball will step in and play right away. No star trades happening.....we gotta improve around the margins.

I agree Shopson and Dj on all previous posts above. Pelinka should get that trade with Chicago going ASAP. We have fallen into a tie with the Clip Joint for 6th place and the lead in the Pacific Division. So getting rid of the dead weight and getting help that we need in here ASAP is Job 1 for Pelinka.

Yea that would be a decent immediate fix. A better one would be to trade for Ingram, play him with DFS, and use Hachimura in a trade package for Ingram, a Point Guard, and/or a Center.
