I agree. If Pelinka can talk down Nico from a bunch of players and 1st Round picks, why didn't he talk down the Hornets GM on Western Knecht. That was a really big mistake in my opinion and I think the Lakers will regret what they did to get Williams when they just could have waited until the summer.

They got the big they wanted and needed....AD has to be pissed that they get a true C once he is gone.

They got the C Luka needs and with Williams and Hayes they have a pretty solid duo. Hayes is a solid backup, he just cannot be the starter FT.

Lakers just gave the Mavs a title this year looking like. they look better than every team within minutes of AD joining. He was the missing piece. Now they are well rounded with no weakness

The guys the Lakers really wanted were Kessler first, then Richards from Charlotte, who they did nothing on (sat around and twiddled their thumbs), and THEN Williams, when they got desperate because AD was gone. Before they got Williams, they tried to pry Duren away from Detroit, which would not have been a good trade.

Richards got dealt to the Suns. Trader Danny probably wanted way too much for Kessler most likely and then Pelinka decided to call Charlotte and get Williams so Luka could have his lob threat.

Never saw anything about Duren.....Detroit would have been stupid to trade him.

Luka, Reaves, Hachimura, and Williams are all young enough that they could play together a while....they would just need 1 other starter when Bron retires. Pelinka prolly thought of that when he traded for Luka and then made the trade for Williams.
