I don't know what any of ya think of Mike Bacsik, but a month or so ago he was saying he thought Mazara was not a ML outfielder and needed to be a DH only.

I don't at all agree with this. What do y'all think?

to answer your original question, Mazara isn't an ideal OF, but imagine the thinking is his bat will more than make up for his shortcomings on defense.

This guy has shocked me, and just seems to rise to the occasion whenever the occasion presents itself.

How many of ya, thought (1) He was ever a front line catcher? Or even an adequate backup? (2) A clutch/power hitter? (3) A leader on/off the field?

He has really surprised me. He is really having a good year. Never thought him and Lucroy would be in the lineup at the same time. But it has worked really well.

I remember several were critical of Chirino when we signed Lucroy. I was not one of them.

RF - Choo (.658 but a .387 OBP)
DH - Beltre/Gallo (.833/.851)

Bench: Mazara (.633), Lucroy (.725), Kozma (.705)

Maybe Mazara in LF and Deshields in CF if you're willing to sacrifice some defense

Not to mention the standings..... it feels like we could only realistically compete for a wild card.
