While entirely true that he has been the most sacked AND he has played beyond some bad OLs in his career, the sack numbers are inflated by Russ style of play. By that I mean that he also holds onto the ball longer than almost any QB in the league, both to the reward and detriment of his game.

This article takes a specific game as an example but it applies to his whole career.

Does Wilson "deserve" better protection and OL personal? Wholeheartedly YES! But his inability to acknowledge that his own tendancies contribute to the very issue he is complaining about is odd. He is a smart player and I am sure he is well aware of this.

Therefore as a diehard fan of the team I have trouble mustering tons of sympathy for him unless he is willing to shave a few million off of his large deal to allow for OL issues to be addressed.
Agree and I also think Russ has lost a step or two. He's still a great asset when using his legs but he seems to get tracked down more over the past couple of seasons from what I remember? Which naturally is part of him holding onto the ball too long.

Wilson averaged 6.2 a carry last season, the second best in his career, so no he isn't losing anything.

Nobody just walked in and BOOM!!!!!!!! like Wilson did, no baby sitting this guy, no.....now just sit over here and watch how it's done ok? He had to sink or swim as we know he is a hell of a swimmer.

When taking everything into consideration there is nobody who did it better those first nine seasons of a career, nobody!!!

The guy has never had a losing season, he has never missed a game. He has won more games in his nine seasons than any QB in hstory did in theirs.

Why fight it?

OK for a self proclaimed track and football expert you sure say some stupid shit.

Dude! how the hell does his yards per carry negate him not losing a step? As proven time and time again, math is not your strong suit. I guess Siri can't assist you with what averages actually means.

Keep trying Skippy. It's cute

How many QBs have won more than two SBs in their first 9 years?

Come on Siri wants to know.

Some of us who know that stats only matter in FFL will likely tell you those QBs had a better first 9 years.

I'd be willing to bet your Siri subscription that even RW would give up those records for a couple more Lombardis.

Well, Rodgers beats him with 169.

Aside from that, younger guys will always beat older guys because the game is increasingly favoring QBs.

Move the number of years and you get different guys. Say "at least eighteen seasons" if you're a Tom Brady fan, or "at least four seasons" if you like Mahomes (174.7). You say nine seasons because you like Wilson. He's the best in that cohort.

Yes, only Rodgers beats him.

Now do passer rating of those with nine or more seasons, once again only Rodgers beats him.

Who out rushed him, only Vick and Cam.

Who has a better TD/INT?

Who won more games?

Who played in more pro bowls?

When ya add everything up, nobody did it better their first nine seasons of pro football.

Give me he name of the guy who did and we;ll see how he fares vs Wilson.

Why would anyone try to battle something this damn obvious?

Who won more games?
Who started day one and never missed a game?
Who played in more pro bowls?
Who had a better passer rating?
More rushing yards?
Better TD/INT?
Better comp%?

Talking.....one QB....well?

Like I said many times, it is about the combination of things that makes him the most impressive.

Walked right in
tied rookie td record
first QB in history to have 100 passer rating first two NFL seasons
most wins in nine seasons
hasn't missed a game
Only QB with a 4000/30/500 season, 15 yards short of doing that three times
--->his TD/INT as good as it gets<---
--->
8 pro bowls in nine seasons<---
--->
4000 yards rushing in 9 seasons<---
Superbowl winner
second highest passer rating in history vs those with at least nine seasons
--->his comp& one of the best ever<---

Now give me the name of the QB who compares to that those first nine seasons.

"his TD/INT as is good as it gets" ----- Yeah but Aaron Rodgers is better.

Wilson: 267 TD's & 81's int's

Rodgers: 412 TD's & 89 int's (AR's 1st 9 years as starter: 296 TD's & 71 int's in 9 fewer game than Wilson)

"8 pro bowls in 9 seasons"

Incorrect. He has 7 pro bowls in 9 seasons. But Johnny U. had 8 pro bowls his first 9 seasons.

"4000 yards rushing in 9 seasons"

Mike Vick had 5,219 his first 9 seasons in fewer games.

"his comp& one of the best ever"

What? You trying to say his completion % is one of the best ever? Is so here are some QB's with a better %

DeShaun Watson- 67.8
Brees- 67.7
Kirk Cousins- 67.0
Teddy Bridgewater- 66.5
Chad Pennington, Mahomes, Dak Prescott- 66.0
Kurt Warner- 65.5
Matt Ryan- 65.4
P. Manning- 65.3
Tony Romo- 65.3
Aaron Rodgers/Russell Wilson- 65.1

Your nonstop over the top Russell Wilson nut-swinging is hilarious.

All this time and you STILL don't get it, wow!!!!

Give me ONE other QB who compares to Wilson who has played at least nine seasons, why do you struggle with that? ONE OTHER QB....ok, not a flock.

There is nobody who is a better runner AND passer than Russell Wilson.

Come on man this is not this hard to figure out.

This is actually a pretty stupid argument. Baby-sitting a 24-year-old seems weird.

And Matt Flynn had all of one NFL win when Wilson beat him out to be the starting QB.

So the oldest rookie (I think) to ever start game one, miraculously beat out a guy with one NFL win.

The only amazing thing was Carroll ignoring Flynn's stupidly huge contract that was based on a single game.

That is all Wilson has played. Unfair to compare a guy with 12-14 seasons. So just compare their first nine to his first nine.

Taking everything into consideration you can't find anyone who did it better.

Toss out a name and watch how this works.

Let's do ten or more seasons instead. Nice round number.

Oh, wait, then Wilson is eliminated.

Let's do four - no wait, then Wilson drops two spots.

Nine seasons. Yeah. That's the Goldilocks number.
