2015 Newton won the MVP

Comp%....59.8, Wilson....68,1
yards.....3837, Wilson 4024
TD/INT....35/10, Wilson 34/8
Passer rating....99.3, Wilson 110.1
rushing....636, Wilson 508

So.....huh??????????
10 rushing TDs vs 1 for Wilson (45 total vs 35 total) and 15 wins vs 10.

You’re putting more emphasis on low INTs and completion percentage. TDs, yards and wins will always be seen as more important. Yards were basically a wash between the two that year (59 more total yards for Wilson).

ONE MORE TIME~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

All I;m saying OBVIOUSLY like in OBVIOUSLY is no QB in history was more impressive than Russell Wilson has been these first nine seasons of a career. That is a fact and everyone who knows the game knows this. The guy never sat on a bench, he never missed a game, he has won more games in nine seasons than any QB ever. No QB with over 4000 rushing yards comes close to his passing stats. He is the only QB in history to pass for over 4000 yards, over 30TD's and rush for over 500 yards in aseason, done it twice. Only Rodgers with a higher passer rating talking those with nine or more seasons,

He never had a GRONK a Kelce a Kittle, he never had a Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, MEGATRON, and his numbers are still impressive.

In 2020 the NFL players voted Russell Wilson the second best player in the NFL.

Watch what happens next.

Okay, okay, okay I got it. Russell Wilson > John Elway. As a matter of fact Russell Wilson > all other QB's. What he's done is more impressive than Montana's 4 rings. And more impressive than Brady's 7 rings. It doesn't matter he's never been a Super Bowl mvp. It doesn't matter he's never been a league mvp.

When he gets into the HOF a wing should be built just for him.

John Elway is like Roger Staubach they get a ton of props then ya look at their numbers and both are really weak vs the greats.

Take a few minites and Google theit stats, yep.....weak!

Yeah what"s a 15-1 and in the SB vs a 10-6 record. Brady was leading the MVP race that year till about week 11 and Cam went on a tear

Terry Bradshaw 4 RINGS.....so he must be FAR better than Marino, right?

Bob Griese the best QB ever he never lost a game.

Which proves that All-Pro voters don’t care much about those things.

Wins are more a team thing actually, comp%/passer rating more on the QB.

Alabama wins regardless of who plays QB.

Wilson’s completion percentage is behind guys like Teddy Bridgewater and Chad Pennington.

You should probably stick with passer rating, which accounts for TDs and interceptions, is inflated for the modern era and ignores sacks. Perfect for Wilson.

(The most complete passer metric is ANY/A, which also accounts for sacks, and it gives an accurate picture of where Wilson fits among today’s passers. He’s 7th among qualifying active QBs - 6th if you take away Brees.)

Active starting QBs as old or older than Wilson with more passing yards at 32 than him:
Stafford - 45,109, 282 TDs
Ryan - 41,796, 260 TDs
Roethlisberger - 39,057, 251 TDs
Wilson - 33,946, 267 TDs

Active starting QBs younger than Wilson with more passing yards than him when he was the age they are now:

At age 29
Carr - 26,896, 170 TDs
Wilson - 22,176, 161 TDs

At age 27
Dak - 17,634, 106 TDs
Wilson - 13,974, 106 TDs

At age 26
Goff - 18,171, 107 TDs
Wilson - 9,950, 72 TDs

At age 25
Watson - 14,539, 104 TDs (although his career is possibly already over)
Mahomes - 14,152, 114 TDs
Mayfield - 11,115, 75 TDs
Wilson - 6,475, 52 TDs

At age 24 or younger
Josh Allen - 9,707, 67 TDs
Wilson - 3,118, 26 TDs
Head start at age 23, before Wilson ever played a snap:
Darnold - 8,097, 45 TDs
Kyler - 7,693, 46 TDs
Lamar - 7,085, 68 TDs
And then there's Lawrence and the other two top draft picks, who will all still be 22 or younger when they have their first season under their belt.

In other words, half the league has a starting QB with better stats than Wilson had at that age, and the guys 25 and under are killing it.

That was great, love to see that kind of thing, that took time and effort. props!!!

The thing with Wilson is the total package that combination of....

starts
wins
comp%
yards
TD/INT
passer rating
rushing yards
NFL firsts/records

When it comes to all that, nobody was more impressive the first nine seasons of the career.

How many listed above made 8 pro bowls their first 9 seasons, have a career passer rating ovr a 100, and have rushed for over 4000 yards? Who up there won more games those first nine seasons? Who up there started more games?

Next season if Wilson throws 35 td passes which is very realistic, he will pass.....

Joe Montana
John Elway
Warren Moon
Johnny Unias

.....into 12th on the All Time passing TD list, and I doubt anyone has more rushing TD's.(ranked ahead of him)

Starting next season Wilson will start moving up all these All Time stat lists, with another 4000 yard season he moves into the top 25 all time.

No QB will be ranked higher combining TD/yards/passer rating/rushing....nobody!

Ryan started 158 games by age 32 (14 more than Wilson). Big Ben had 106 wins (8 more than Wilson). Lamar has a passer rating over 100 and has rushed for 2900 in just three seasons and already has 19 rushing TDs to Wilson's 21.

You can go with Pro Bowls if you want but I'm pretty sure I can pick an impressive criterion that narrows it down to any one of those guys.

45K yds by age 32? only Stafford
5 consecutive seasons with a completion % over 65? only Ryan

You want a killer? Subtract negative pass plays (sacks and INTs) from passing TDs. Looks like everybody's negative (by a LOT) except Mahomes.
Mahomes +23
Wilson -228 (which actually isn't that bad)

What, you mean like ranked 12th, 17th, 3rd and 2nd would give a total of 34th?

Somebody has to beat him in everything? He doesn't beat everybody in all of those.

Like I said many times, it is about the combination of things that makes him the most impressive.

Walked right in
tied rookie td record
first QB in history to have 100 passer rating first two NFL seasons
most wins in nine seasons
hasn't missed a game
Only QB with a 4000/30/500 season, 15 yards short of doing that three times
his TD/INT as good as it gets
8 pro bowls in nine seasons
4000 yards rushing in 9 seasons
Superbowl winner
second highest passer rating in history vs those with at least nine seasons
his comp& one of the best ever

Now give me the name of the QB who compares to that those first nine seasons.
