The Fast Food Exit

There is one Long John Silvers left near me. It’s a good thing it’s about 15 miles away though. If not I’d be there a few times a week and weigh about 300 pounds.

There is just something about that Fish/Chicken and Hush Puppies all cooked in the same grease that makes it so good.

I used to love them. We too have the only one standing within like 40 miles about a 10-minute drive away. About a year ago against my wife's advice (who grew up close to it) I had it for the first time in years because I loved Long John Silvers as a kid.

It was a gross experience. I felt sick all afternoon. I've never gone back.

Oddly enough, I've joked that if you are in Southeast Ohio/West Virginia along I-77 there are two things they have at almost every exit - a Long John Silvers and an adult bookstore.

I feel a little ill. This might have been a terrible thread idea.

I'm picky with my food. I live in a healthy eating house so not alot of Fast food.

OPA and Tacobell/Mucho Burrito/ La Tequesta are my fast food go to.

Donair and Greek Salad or just a Burrito

their line-up has a bit of a theme:

mama burger - regular burger, kinda small
papa burger - double patty
baby burger - really small

then they added
grandpa burger - triple patty
teen burger - larger patty, all the fixins
uncle burger - even larger patty, not sure what else is on it
buddy burger - also small, bigger than baby burger i think?


the teen is the way to go though.
or mozza burger is good too. named after cousin Mozza, of course.
drinks used to be served in frosted mugs as well. nice touch.

and their chicken burgers are called "the Chubby Chicken".
you guys probably have an issue with that, too.

A pretty healthy fast food place that's been all the rage in recent years here is the Maryland-based CAVA. Mediterranean food, it's pretty healthy, and very fresh. Definitely will be sprouting up near you soon if you don't have one already.

My grandparents lived neared an A&W. He died of a heart attack. Guess now I know why.

mexican of course. oh my god it's good. ingredients are just so damned fresh.

I just got a web alert for 'chubby chicken'.

There are a few A&W around here but I have never been in one so I was unsure of the naming convention. I just pictured a middle aged lecherous man ordering a teen burger, then saying he'd like to order a burger too.

It was more than 20 years ago. His doc told him he had to change how he ate. He didn't, but he lived a great life. No regrats!

Mostly Chick Fil A these days. When I lived in Massachusetts they were big on virtue signalling so the pols opposed letting them in. I just get chicken tenders. Sometimes they say "Have a blessed day" but there's no sign of any bias towards or against anyone. I just like their chicken.

I gave up on McDonald's because they're still drive-thru only and slow as fuck.

There's a 5 Guys but it's a bitch to park near it. I'd rather eat at a bar where I can sit down and have a beer, too. All our fast food here is takeout only, so a bar is usually way more appealing.

Burgers look like the ones from Harry's Drive-In in Scarborough. Used to work around the corner from there, Greek family just doing cheap burgers in the best way. I miss these ones.

The name Sudden Service concerns me.

Sounds like either a teenager who ignores you and then suddenly whips too after you've waited a few minutes or worse... the description of how the food makes it's end journey after consumption.

There was talk McDonalds (canada) was going to bring back the McPizza this summer but that rumo(u)r has been put to bed ... they were made with their own special tiny little ovens and McD's isnt investing in those
