First off, no trades.. Just going with our current picks

Rnd 2 Kelvin Benjamin WR Seminole State
Rnd 3 Stanley Baptist CB Nebraska
Rnd 4 Cyril Richardson OG Baylor
Rnd 5 Yawin Smallwood ILB Connecticut
Rnd 6 PBA
Rnd 7 PBA

Yes I took a Mulligan on 6 and 7 because that deep Im not so focused on position as whats the best players left on the board. there will be a couple of guys who were projected as 3rds there in the 6th and later.

My only concern is that we didn't take a S in your scenario. Both of our starters are on one year deals. We need to find their replacements this year and groom them. Maybe Thomas is one, I have little hope for Rambo after what I saw last year. We still need at least one.

Shark, you were raving about our young guards then you select one in your mock draft. You still want to go into the 2014 season with polo and Compton. Yikes!!

I would be good with that. I may the only one on here besides Shark who would be fine with taking Benjamin there.

I never raved about our young guards. And I think if Richardson is there in the 4th, he offers extremely good value. Also gives a level of comfort to our QB (which seems to be one of the hot button issues in Redskins land lately).

I agree we need to see what we have in them. But that wouldnt preclude me from taking Richardson if he was there in the 4th. You did notice that everything I drafted was a developmental/depth player aside from Benjamin. Im a firm believer in drafting for depth and development. Drafting for starters is usually where you tend to reach. And none of the guys i listed would I expect to be higher than 2nd on the opening day depth chart.

I agree Richardson is a good pick. If he is there in the 4th round.

Honestly I would rather we find a replacement for Chester ( provided the replacement is actually better) and hold off on the all out push for a RT until next year when we have a full compliment of draft picks including a 1st rounder.

Rnd 2 Kelvin Benjamin WR Seminole State
Rnd 3 Stanley Baptist CB Nebraska
Rnd 4 Cyril Richardson OG Baylor
Rnd 5 Yawin Smallwood ILB Connecticut

Imagine though if(Benjamen in multiple WR formations) all these rookies are productive starters in the 2nd year???
We can draft a S in the 1st round next year.

Skinem.. as i posted earlier, I would hope we go for the stud OT in the first next year. But I would also factor a S in there some where as well. IM hoping for guys that dont HAVE too start this year, but shouuld develop into starters by next year, 2016 at the latest.

Ok. I overlooked that. I will say I'm hoping our record this year will land us in the mid 20's of next years 1st round.
Is that high enough to land a stud OT?

LT... probably not. But an LT that could slide over to RT?? I think so. Also the hope would be that we have solidified the rest of the line meaning LT, LG, C, RG are all in place. Thus we could either grab a RT in free agency, or draft one. And I would prefer both if Compton has not shown that he can infact win the job with his play this year any way.

Plus if we are solid on the rest of the line, I would have no issue with trading up to get the RT if that was what needed to be done at that time.

Totally agree there. That's where I was going with the question.

I would rather get our RT now and use the 1st round pick next year on another position

So you would rather burn yet another pick on O-lineman never mind the fact that we have used five or six picks on lineman over the past three years?? As i said, its a mulligan pick. We do need to see if Compton, Hurt, Gettis or Leribeus can play as starters before throwing more resources at the line. Now granted if we get to 34 and OT is infact the best player on the board, then have at it. But I think there will be players at other positions that are better than the OTs on the board at 34. And I get the feeling we are not going to force the pick, which is what I think taking an OT at 34 would be.

the last couple of o-line they picked in the later rounds have been players that we have been developing or hoped to get developed and when a 1st round talent Tackle is sitting there at our pick in the 2nd round when its the biggest need on the team you can't pass them up and scouts and coaches have said tackle is our biggest need!!!

And that right there is the problem. When you pick out of NEED instead of picking for talent... you usually end up picking wrong. If the season started tomorrow, would we have some one to play the position?? The answer is yes, which is why its not our biggest need and why we shouldnt be pushing to pick an OT. And since when has RT ever been a teams biggest need ever??
