I'm SO happy they beat the Yanks last night to help make it harder for them to get the WC.

I have to get my thrills from schadenfreude now, I admit it.

In the NL Central, the team run differentials range from +9 (Pirates) to -47 (Cubbies).
The 4 teams excepting the Cubs are all within a differential range of +/- 10 runs, and the division leading Cards are the worst of that group at -4.
The 63-76 Cubs don't really have a much worse run differential than the Yanks (-32) who are at 70-66...some analysts will point to a consistent trend of a team outperforming its differential as a sign of a good manager, and I guess I would argue that Joey Pitbull is probably a much better manager than Rick Renteria. Definitely a healthy dose of crapshootidiness there, too...
