We're trying to find out ourselves. Early camp reports were Bailey was struggling.
Dallas does save a few mil by this, but I find it hard to believe Bailey lost out over money.

While I'm sure he'll find a job somewhere his numbers have declined the past two seasons. So if the Dallas fans are saying he struggled during camp I can now sort of understand it?

That's about as good an explanation as any. Its a mystery that the Cowboys "braintrust" better hope they didn't screw up. The idea that a CFL guy that was out of a job for a year could beat out Dan Bailey is silly unless there is an injury concern. From all accounts Bailey was very good in camp (and as good as Maher) after the first couple of days of August and by the last couple of weeks seemed to be his old self. Perhaps he lost a little leg strength if anything and Maher proved to have that. Something more going on here IMO.

If the performances were equal, and one makes a couple million dollars less, I understand. At the same time, it sure is nice to have a veteran kicker when the situation is tight....

They were 11M Under the cap pre cut, I doubt money was the issue.

Bailey is a good Christian boy from the Bible belt. He refused to get on the Cowboy Party Bus with Balndino and hookers. Sometimes that's all it takes in Jerry's World.
