I can agree Dallas saw the savings as a plus, but the best I can tell is Maher won the job on performance and almost lost it due to team loyalty to Bailey.

It was a $$ move. We'll see if it works out for them. Giving up one of the best in the league for a guy with 0 NFL experience.

if the new guy doesn't kick well this year and costs them a game or 2, they will regret this but sometimes it is not hard to replace a kicker or punter with a younger, cheaper model.

the good news is Bailey will end up kicking for someone this year. And we will see if it was just a money dump or if his trend of getting worse every year continues.
