So I am new to this whole sports thing...and the hockey thing...got a little addicted last year and this year have been going to a lot of the home games for the Jackets. I even bought a couple ticket packages

But what's the deal with the Third Jersey? Someone said there used to be Sunday Jerseys or something? What's the story on that?

As for the third jersey, it's really just a way to NHL teams to generate extra revenue. Currently, the league doesn't get all the much money from Versus and absolutely nothing from NBC.

Seems to be a strange Olivia Newton John rabbit hole my question led us down...lol... but thanks for the info, I wasn't sure.

I am torn about the new jerseys, they are kinda powder blue...and have a canon on them, not sure how I fee about the cannon, or the whole Civil War motif in the first place. It would be cooler if they called the arena the Battlefield like the San Jose has the Shark Tank

How about Soccer, that's a good 'least American sport'... especially since the rest of the world calls it football and we kinda suck at it a little, at least compared to a lot of other countries.

When I lived in the UK I got into soccer, you can't not like it and live there, if you don't like it you are totally shunned! So I started watching it and really began to appreciate it.

But I don't get why people argue that it isn't a sport! I mean seriously...the athletic ability it takes! I would get that a lot too, people talking smack about it.

I think that is why I like hockey so much...it reminds me of soccer on ice

It is more American's think it is slow so they refuse to adopt it. And because they don't really adopt it, they say it is not a sport. It really does require a lot of athletic ability for such a simple game.

Also the diving and faking injuries is out of control.
