UC and Memphis.

If its just fans pickin schools (its not, the media folks make those calls) personally I would have no problem grabbing UC, UCF,USF and Memphis for the Big12.
Instant rival game in FL, WVU/UC prob develops into a trophy game/small rivalry type and we get the best CFB team in the state of Tennessee.

Meh who knows what the criteria will be soon, maybe the Big12 nabs em up after all eventually :noidea:.

As far as the PAC schools I think AZ/ASU or maybe UCLA (though Id rather have USC obviously) may find their way into the Big12 crosshairs.

Last Bowl win for the Big 12: Texas curbstomping the #2 team in the PAC who thought they were a playoff team

Next to Last win for the Big 12: Texas curbstomping the #2 team in the SEC who thought they were a playoff team

It is starting to be a pattern

I could care less if any of the teams wins a bowl game

But, the odds of Texas holding the last 3 bowl wins in a row for the Big 12 is fairly decent

Oklahoma never ever ever ever wins a bowl game, so expect no help from them
I guess the biggest issue for the big12 then is "can Jexas get bowl eligible this year?"

back to the initial point of this thread: Big12 is best conference.

The OP has disappeared, imagine that?

Sec#1 vs Big 12 #1- 28 pt win for LSU (it wasn't that close...7 touchdown passes in the first half)

SEC#2 vs Big12 #2- 12 pt win for UGA with 13 starters out.

Sec#6 (4th in the west division) vs Big12 #4- TA&M wins by 3.

And the big 12 is better?

Big 12 # 3 vs. AAC #3: Navy wins.

Is the Big 12 even better than the AAC?

Pretty hard to call a conference with a 1-5 bowl game record the best conference.

Big 12 bowl games:

No. 25 Oklahoma State: L, 24-21 to Texas A&M
Iowa State: L, 33-9 to No. 15 Notre Dame
No. 4 Oklahoma: L, 63-28 to No. 1 LSU
Kansas State: L, 20-17 to No. 23 Navy
Texas: W, 38-10 vs. No. 11 Utah
No. 7 Baylor: L, 26-14 to No. 5 Georgia

When your conference champion gives up 7 touchdowns in the first half and then lose by 35 points and the other 5 games rack up four losses, you're not the best conference.

Everybody knows you cant judge best conferences by bowl season.

If yall knew CFB the way the best conference fans do (thats right, its us) then yall would know that.

Big 12 needs to add Cincy, and at least one other school.
The two would need to bring MORE money to the table than what reducing the current payouts from 1/10 to 1/12 would provide. Otherwise the current 10 would lose money...and it is ALL about the money period.

Just make em wait 10 years for equal shares, like other conferences have done.

Difference of opinion on that, but that's fine. It' a little of both actually.

Rose and Cotton are equal Bowls in general (2 of the 4 Historical NYD Bowls and both in the NY6). I know, I know, that is blasphemy to a B1G fan and a different issue. I've been to both, and I LOVE the Rose Bowl, but I'd rather see Alabama (10-2) in the Cotton vs. Wisconsin (10-3) than in the Rose vs. California (7-5). Something like that.

Bad take. Pac 12 Rose bowl team has never been 7-5. i think 9 win USC was the lowest win total going in to Rose.

No worries.

We have a better chance of winning a Natty than your sorry ass soft team. Keep winning the Big 12 with Flag Football, and then getting your asses handed to you when real football is played.

5-7 in the Big 10 is like 9-3 in the Soft 12.
is that why Nebraska had 2 Big XII titles in the 90s but then never again in the last 12 years in the conference?

It has happened. UCLA repped the Pac with a 6-4-1 record in the 1984 Rose Bowl and whooped the 10-1 Illini 45-9!

Even after ten years, I don't think there are any that would bring more to the table than without reducing what would be the current members shares. Except possibly Notre Dame and BYU. They have national followings.

They'd just be adding more Tech, Baylor, TCU, K-State types to the conference. They already have 7 1/2 of those types in the conference. Kansas is the 1/2 if you get my drift. I don't think OU and Texas want to carry any more of those but maybe they do.

Any school available that you can think of that would bring enough viewer demand/ithat kind of money to the table with them?

SEC 6-2
3-0 vs Big 12
1-1 vs B1G
2-1 vs ACC
did not play vs PAC 12

PAC 12 5-3
2-1 vs group of 5
2-1 vs B1G
1-0 vs ACC
0-1 vs Big 12

B1G 4-4 with Indiana left to play Tennessee SEC
1-1 vs SEC
1-0 vs Group of 5
1-1 vs ACC
1-2 vs PAC 12

ACC 4-5
0-1 PAC-12
2-1 Group of 5
1-1 B1G
1-2 SEC

Group of 5 3-5
3-5 vs Power 5 conferences
plus more games blah blah blah

Big 12 1-5
Big 12
0-3 vs SEC
0-1 vs Group of 5
0-1 vs Catholic Schools
1-0 vs PAC 12
Based on that, looks like SEC wins it again. SEC did not play any Group of 5.

I am sure I made boo boos.
That's just frickin' sad for college football IMHO.

Kansas State: L, 20-17 to No. 23 Navy
Texas: W, 38-10 vs. No. 11 Utah
No. 7 Baylor: L, 26-14 to No. 5 Georgia

Put stock in bowl games? I don't.

And here's a revelation...the Big 12 wasn't even close to being the best conference this year...or any year recently. It was an interesting conference race to watch, I'll give it that.

A lot of people took the OP's bait.

Oklahoma is usually pretty good at winning their bowl games, except when it involves a college playoff game. Unfortunately, four of their last 5 bowl appearances were in the playoffs.
