The best games that didn't count

Has your fav team played a game that didn't count in the standings but you still get goose bumps over it? I have two by my Sabres. BTW a day or two after beating the Red Army team the Sabres played Montreal and got a standing ovation when they came on the ice in the forum from the Habs fans. Thank ypu Habs fans. talk about goose bumps. That was great !


I can't imagine what the French connection could accomplish in today's no touch hockey.

One all hockey fans loved as the Flyers won 4-1 on the scoreboard,but more importantly made the Soviets leave the ice after Ed Van Impe levelled Kharlamov.

Clarke openly said he "hated those bastards" as he and the rest of the Flyers hammered on anyone wearing red.

That's the late Bill Hewitt. He did the Leafs games back in the 60's and 70's.

Not the Wings, but as a kid we won a Tourney in Osseo/Maple Grove, Minnesota and got a chance to play in the old Met Center right before the North Stars played the Leafs. After we played (we stomped a team from Wisconsin) we were shown to our seats for the game. During the game we met Norm Green, the president who would later be hated by all for the big move to dallas. It's still one of my favorite autographs that I have for some reason. (I've got some good ones)
It was also Damphousse's rookie campaign. I remember a ton of hype and hecklers.

No offense but that is a terrible response. They were playing a HOCKEY game not a war not a fist fight but to see who could play better, not fight better or who had bigger dicks, just win the fucking game. Personally I was embarrass by the game the Flyers played because it wasn't about the game and skill it was about being the tough guy. Look at the Sabres clip with Korab, Gav Spencer and plenty more to rough it up.

I will take a win at THE GAME any day over beating people up. Maybe the Flyers were afraid they couldn't beat them at the game called HOCKEY. Be proud.
