The guy is the worst defensive 2nd baseman in all of baseball. I know he hits bombs but his plate discipline is terrible. Unless we plan on moving him to a corner outfield spot at some point I say put him on the trading block and see what kind of offers you get.Sherrington suggested the Rangers might want to shop Odor at the deadline.

It isn't that he doesn't have any value. Also, his value might be viewed differently by different organizations. The only way you can make the judgment is by seeing what other clubs will offer for him.Not sure I understand the concept of saying a player basically has no value, so let's see what we can get for him.
Think the same has been thought about Choo Fielder MorelandNot sure I understand the concept of saying a player basically has no value, so let's see what we can get for him.
Can't dismiss his new contract. It isn't that he doesn't have any value. Also, his value might be viewed differently by different organizations. The only way you can make the judgment is by seeing what other clubs will offer for him.
I see your point though in that you can't say a guy has no value and then expect to get much for him. On the other hand I have seen guys make the exact opposite argument that didn't make much sense to me. Some have claimed in the past that certain players were valuable to our team, but had no trade value.
Odor has value, but given our offense if we could move him and get something of value back in return it could make us a better team. It remains to be seen though if there is indeed a match with another team. That certainly cannot be depended on. I do think they should find out though. You never know, there might be a GM or two out there who perceives that Odor is exactly what their team needs and is ready to fork over a good return.
Yep. That could be a deal breaker. Can't dismiss his new contract.
His contract would be seen as a plus I would think. Can't dismiss his new contract.
Not for a severe under achiever plus giving prospects in addition imo.His contract would be seen as a plus I would think.
Nadel just said the Rangers are allowing the #9 hitter to reach base 40% of the time.
