Does anyone here seriously associate Mike Patrick with the ACC? I didn't even realize how many ACC tournaments Patrick covered until I looked it up. If I'm not at the ACCT, I usually watch it on Raycom. I associate Tim Brando, Mike Gminski, Billy Packer, Dan Bonner and Tim Brandt with the ACC. Dick Vitale too, if we're talking about ESPN guys.

I remember a whoIe bunch of Mike Patrick games including the great Duke comeback against Maryland in 2001(The DeviIs aIso trailed Maryand by 11 points at the haIf in the Final Four that same year and won by 11)! It was Billy Packer and Jim Thacker way back when in the 70's-80's, then Tim Brando and G-man, and Dan Bonner, etc, but Patrick was on ESPN a bunch; even caIIing pro football as I recall!

I'm one who associates him with the ACC and the ACCT. I don't have Raycom, so I was strictly watching it on ESPN, seemed like he was always on the call. Some of my most fond memories of the ACCT were with him calling it.

Well, when the ACCT is in Greensboro, I could just about walk to it. When I'm not at the ACCT, I usually watch it on Raycom w/ Brando and Gminiski.

I did. ESPN had better quality broadcasts so if they had an ACC match up, I'd watch it over the Raycom feed. Raycom for the longest time was just shit. Graphics, clarity, and overall production quality looked like they were 10 years behind any other broadcaster. Their announcers were fine (FUCK BILLY PACKER), I just preferred the better look and presentation of ESPN (plus it was nice to see the scores of other games on the bottom line)

VT has punched its ticket to the Dance with that win over Clemson. Even if we lose the last 3 games, that's gonna be a .500 record in conference. More than enough to get in considering how highly regarded the ACC is and how weak the field is

Not that I think VT will lose out but if VT did, the projected RPI would be the worst ever for an at large selection. I think 1 more win would lock VT up.
