Not for the Bears. If Cutler gets injured, Trestman will have Clausen playing the best football of his life ala Josh McCown.

completely disagree. if cutler goes down the bear will not win 6 games with that defense

For the Broncos...

Can't get injured
Peyton is a given
TJ Ward--Has become an instant tone setter for our defense and huge upgrade over last year. Can't lose him
Ryan Clady--Losing him last year was a bigger deal than I wanted to admit. Changes up the whole way the team has to try and protect Peyton.

Need to step up
Nate Irving--Guy had the MLB position handed to him. Now needs to show he actually deserves it.
Aqib Talib--Broncos need him to be that #1 Corner and earn his big contract
Von Miller--Obviously last year was a lost year for him. Needs to show why he is one of the top-10 or so players in the entire league. Needs to redeem himself to fans.

Can't get hurt.

Stafford of course...CJ Suh and Worford
As in any QB without saying. CJ because offense looks like shit without him and Stafford is lost.
Suh makes the defense click regardless of lack of glory stats.
Worford he was a road grader and made Ravioli look good. Lions need resemblence of a run game to win 8 games LOL.

Step up

Slay Fairley Ziggy and whomever plays other DE

Slay is in the spotlight and will still be learning this year, only second year CB. He needs to speed up the process
Why I even expect Fairley to step up is beyond me. Lazy fat fuck will never change. Just maybe he shows some pride for the love of contract year though.
Ziggy and other DE...need huge effort from front four to help young Slay and ARRP corner Mathis.

Lions

Stay Healthy: Calvin, Stafford (I wouldn't have listed him in previous years when Shaun Hill was his backup), Stephen Tulloch

Step Up: Darius Slay, Nick Fairley, Stafford

I'd replace Tulloch with Bush but this looks good otherwise. For step up it's all about Stafford.

They did fine last year. I think Trestman can do what he did with McCown only with Clausen. Neither were considered assets before coming to the bears.

Guys who can't get hurt for the Niners:

Kap-If Gabbert has to come in to do anything more then the victory formation, then we are fucked.

P-Willis-With Bowman out for at least half the season and Aldon now suspended for 9 games, we need him to be the beast he's been his whole career. If he goes down, our defense crumbles.

Cowboy-He's been the linchpin of our defensive front for that last 4+ years. Our defense is significantly worse when he is out.

Who needs to step Da Fuq Up:

Culliver-He was out all last season with a torn ACL he suffered last TC. He needs to show that he can cover.

Tank Carradine-We need him to meet his potential as it would make our 3-4 front VERY scary.

ENTIRE OL-Because our defense is wounded with Bow and Aldon out, we need our OL to protect Kap and allow him to go through his progressions.

Minnesota Vikings

Can't get hurt
Cordarrelle Patterson- With the AP situation swirling above this team, Patterson proves to be the only other real threat on offense.
Harrison Smith- Proving to be a perfect fit in Zimmer's defense and maybe one of the top safeties in the NFL.
Kyle Rudolph- I would put somebody else here but...you know..

Need to step up
Xavier Rhodes- He's got the athletic ability and size to be a top tier corner, he just needs to put it all together.
Matt Kalil- Hasn't played to his pro-bowl level since his rookie year. Plus he was the 4th overall pick.
Matt Cassel Lol

Actually Matt Cassel might need to step down. Bridgewater might be pretty good.

I'm big on Bridgewater. I hope (we will) we get to see him sooner than later.

Can't get hurt - Pats
Brady - obvious
Gronk - he is the only difference makers as a weapon. Even when he isn't catching balls he is demanding tons of attention.
Wilfork - could easily say Mayo or Revis but it starts up front and they can't afford to lose his presence.

Need to step up
Dobson - He is the only explosive WR Pats have. Edelman is great at what he adds but he isn't a true deep threat.
Collins - Only real cover LB Pats have and he hasn't faired to we'll in open space so far this early season.
Browner - when he is back he needs to lock down the #2 CB spot. Revis is still good just not lights out. Everyone behind him is inconsistent.
