I’m one of the few people who liked the grossman signing. I only liked it because we were probably last I’m the league in left field production for 5+ years and I knew grossman would at least give us steady output. if he doesn’t hit, he usually walks or gets on base somehow.

Grossman allows the team to platoon young guys setting them up for more favorable situations while having a vet hitter on the other days. Not offsetting the platoon with a young guy is troublesome to me as well.

Every manager thinks they have to over-respect the veterans. They allow what amounts to a caste system where young players almost have to get an injury to a veteran to have much of a chance to play. The Rangers were that way even during the rebuild to some extent.
