Two big reasons:
1. This isn’t Joel Embiid. This may be good in the long run. No lift. No burst. No explosion. Why is this good? This season he has embraced the pass more than ever before. He has really become a play maker. I don’t think with the way he gets played trying to score 40 is how he dominates in the playoffs. He especially can’t do that at 75/80%. I hope he embraces playmaking.

2. The way the Knicks played him. It was only one time this season but Thibs is a robot who can’t adjust. The way he played Embiid in the regular season is the way he will play Embiid today and all series long. Hes not good at adjusting. It’s why he’s a great regular season coach with little in the way of playoff success. The Knicks played him with Hartenstein and he got immediate help with a double Embiid had to pass out of.

If people are looking at Embiid shit, his over assists is the play in my opinion.
