That doesn't mean that you can't trade for other players lol.

No, but it does mean that they need to be patient, especially with the 3rd youngest roster in the league. They need time to see what they've got, what they need and determine what player/type of player fits best.

Maybe they've got a couple of guys who can be developed into what they need defensively? They also need size. They can get that via trade and/or FA, but they need to make sure whoever they get is a good fit.

Their rebuild is going well, but it's also at a point where the wrong move can set them back a few years.

That's a flawed mindset. The team could be in a better position to make a run if they traded for a great player (more or less on Haliburton's level).

lol ok, go look at the Sacramento end to that. Teams don’t generally give up those kind of players. I guess you think the Thunder should trade some of their young core before they know if the players they already have are going to be better than what they would get? If getting better were that easy we wouldn’t have so many bad teams.

This is true. In it's own way, being too patient can be as bad as not being patient enough. Timing is about as important as anything else in a rebuild.

But they are young enough that right now, they would be more likely to mess up their rebuild by acting too quickly than by being patient.

How many teams have brought in James Harden? How has that worked out?

And that's 2 future 1st ballot Hall of Famers going to veteran teams.

The Bucks traded for Jrue Holiday. That worked out great.

Both Jordan and Jackson deserve tremendous credit but the fact remains Jordan was there first and was the foundation.

Harper and Kerr were FA additions and Harper happened while MJ was retired. Kerr was a sneaky good bench addition and a credit to Krause...

Jordan as a player was never a fan of player movement. Case and point when the Bulls traded Jason freakin Caffey for two second round picks, he was upset about it.

I maintain that if MJ not retired those first two times and played for 20+ years into his 40's for the sake of business purposes, he would be even more hated than LeBron is today.
