That doesn't mean that you can't trade for other players lol.
The Pacers are not close to being ready to make a run. They would be giving up someone they don’t know enough about yet, you know like how they got Haliburton in the first place? That doesn't mean that you can't trade for other players lol.

That's a flawed mindset. The team could be in a better position to make a run if they traded for a great player (more or less on Haliburton's level). The Pacers are not close to being ready to make a run. Good oneObviously we'd like to hear your thoughts on Socratic philosophy and how its tenets still apply to modern life
It's also possible for a team to be too patient. No, but it does mean that they need to be patient, especially with the 3rd youngest roster in the league. They need time to see what they've got, what they need and determine what player/type of player fits best.
Maybe they've got a couple of guys who can be developed into what they need defensively? They also need size. They can get that via trade and/or FA, but they need to make sure whoever they get is a good fit.
Their rebuild is going well, but it's also at a point where the wrong move can set them back a few years.
lol ok, go look at the Sacramento end to that. Teams don’t generally give up those kind of players. I guess you think the Thunder should trade some of their young core before they know if the players they already have are going to be better than what they would get? If getting better were that easy we wouldn’t have so many bad teams. That's a flawed mindset. Absolutely, that’s why the GMs get the big bucks. It's also possible for a team to be too patient.

Sacramento made the playoffs last year. Did the Pacers make the playoffs last year?lol ok, go look at the Sacramento end to that. Teams don’t generally give up those kind of players. Good points. This is true. In it's own way, being too patient can be as bad as not being patient enough. Timing is about as important as anything else in a rebuild.
But they are young enough that right now, they would be more likely to mess up their rebuild by acting too quickly than by being patient.
That's a flawed mindset. The team could be in a better position to make a run if they traded for a great player (more or less on Haliburton's level).
I agree that trade may have helped both teams, short term at least. Haliburton and Fox weren’t ideal together I guess. Teams seldom trade a guy like Haliburton though, that was my point.Sacramento made the playoffs last year. Did the Pacers make the playoffs last year?
It ain't gonna work every time, no shit.Really? The Lakers brought in Russell Westbrook...how'd that work out?
How many teams have brought in James Harden? How has that worked out?
And that's 2 future 1st ballot Hall of Famers going to veteran teams.
Fit and chemistry matter...a lot.
Fair enough.I agree that trade may have helped both teams, short term at least. Haliburton and Fox weren’t ideal together I guess. Teams seldom trade a guy like Haliburton though, that was my point.
Both Jordan and Jackson deserve tremendous credit but the fact remains Jordan was there first and was the foundation.ron harper
dennis Rodman
steve Kerr
hell Pippen was traded for technically.
And we are going to credit Jordan for Phil rather than vice versa?
Harper and Kerr were FA additions
