NIL is more than fair.

Those schools are making money off them.
It’s fair but the schools aren’t paying NIL. The ncaa rules prevent schools from paying directly. For the schools that don’t have the owner of Nike funding them (Oregon) or oil money to throw away (Texas) they are asking fans for donations while the schools get rewards of tv deals and bowl game payouts.

They are a lot less clear now, as the NCAA is transitioning to what you want (a pro league)

I want a non tax payer funded pro league

These kids are not employees of the colleges

At best they’re 1099s

And they shouldn’t be paying them

That makes no sense

It’s also a compliance nightmare

It’s going to stay just like it is for quite some time. What we will see is the top 64 break away and then we will see another champion for the non 64. We very well may see direct pay to the athletes by the Universities. The college model is not going anywhere though.

This is pretty much what I'm saying dude. But that 64 will be a pro league with college team names and stadiums and some scholarships. The rest of college sports will be separate.

So what we have always had then lol. I expect the big 64 to pay a salary of sorts to all athletes, men and women. I definitely differ with you on keeping the appearance of going to class, which is all it’s ever been anyway.

No. 64 teams form the pro league. The other 70 or so schools go back to pure student athlete football, and all the other sports do too. The regional conferences come back.

I don't think it will extend beyond CFB and maybe mens and womens basketball

Not sure what you mean. In my opinion players who play in the 64 team pro league (with college colors and stadiums) will have the option of getting a degree during or after their playing eligibility. The ones who know they are going to the NFL won't even have to pretend to go to class.

We disagree here and there. I don’t think NIL is going away for athletes at any level, athletes are going to get paid at all levels, it just won’t be as much at the lower level. The court has ruled on that already.

What makes no sense to me is Ham taking out Vanderbilt, who plays pretty good D and had 14 points tonight and replaces him with his boy T. Prince who had zero points tonight. Ham's substitutions and rotations sometimes have no logical explanations. Shit, I could do that and save the Lakers a couple of million.

It's a short offensive possession that needed spacing to open things up for Lebron. Prince provides that spacing better than Vando. Vando is in there for rebounding and defense.

This 3 game stretch D-Book is on is incredible

46
62
42 tonight through 3 quarters

Incredible in that the Suns are 1-2 in those games? 62 is a lot, but it was the Pacers lol.

Suns only had 98 pts yesterday with 44 from Booker. 9 from Beal, 15 from Durant. As a team, 28% from 3 (on only 14 attempts), 57% from the line and 22 turnovers. That is a true WTF game vs the Magic.

Snoop is going in on Prince now.

It's a wrap. Trade him

He could be traded, but he's just an addition to another trade for salary purposes. The problem is that Ham relies too heavily on players he has coached before. Reddish and Prince are examples on the current Lakers (had both with Atlanta), get big minutes when they should be depth players getting 15-20 minutes tops.

If Saturday's game doesn't have Vando re-established as a starter moving forward, Ham needs an intervention.
