It is interesting.

Because that certainly wasn’t the narrative before the is year when the team did almost as well when he wasn’t playing.

I guess he attended those games, but still.
If nothing else it was strange/surprising

Big Cavs win tonight---- go on the road and beat a quality team at full strength by having a really good 4th quarter.

Allen just beat the shit out of Brook Lopez. Mitchell played great.
No doubt a big W especially considering we are still down a couple main pieces.

Heard Mobley may return next week.

I actually don’t like the Pelicans comp.

While I do expect this postseason to be a learning experience for the Thunder, the Thunder actually do have enough talent to build a championship roster around.

They just need some seasoning and a couple quality additions for depth, experience and to do jobs like rebounding.

The Pelicans never had that. They were just a solid team that was overachieving in the regular season.
I believe it was more about injuries than overachieving and projection of Zion, Ingram, Lonzo then acquiring CJ. They definitely had enough talent they just couldn’t stay healthy.
So really it is the same thing with the Thunder until we see them in the playoffs. We don’t know with OKC yet but to your point, I do agree I THINK it is more than wins and they can build something great.

The point is you don’t know who a team is until you see them in the playoffs over years and see how they progress and transform.

Technically OKC is overachieving this year so far, nobody had them at tied for 1 seed halfway through the season.

They had enough talent to be good.

Not one of those guys is anywhere near being that MVP caliber performer almost all championship teams are anchored by.

Zion theoretically, but he just hasn’t been that guy.

OKC is beating projections, but not because people didn’t expect them to get here. They are just getting here earlier than expected.

Yeah I agree with that point. I do think there was a point where most people thought Zion had MVP talent. Ingram a legit 1a or 2nd option. Zion broke them and things spiraled from there. Zion injury. Ingram injury-prone it seems.
A lot of things did not workout with that team. What a shame

Wait…

Did you just compare the Thunder to the Thunder?
I guess compare a young Thunder team to another. Other than the fact they are young and talented we can’t say yet. Not sure I would use that comparison yet.

Just a young team with a ton of potential to grow. No comparison needed lol

Yes definitely ahead of schedule. It’s not just that though. Shai already is a max guy but it’s already clear that Jdub and Chet are going to be max players as well. Going to be tough but I’m sure Presti is already planning accordingly. We kind of thought this might end up being the case but there is no doubt about it now. Going to be interesting.

The most talented team ever to be this well rounded already. That’s what’s being said of them.

Yahoo's Jay Fischer reporting Houston is another team who may have interest in Malcolm Brogdon.

They are trending in the correct direction, downward, they don’t need anyone.
