well yea. They did get another title though I guess.

But they definitely should've dealt the picks when they had them

(I assume this is what you mean)

Yes. They caught lightning in a bottle

But there’s still a core here, especially defensively

But klay has collapsed and Paul wasn’t the right fit

I’m curious if they don’t use Paul to take on a few 2 year deals and do their reset next year instead

It was a win because they got away from Jordan Poole.

It was a loss because it plays directly into Kerr’s greatest weakness as a coach. Over reliance on vets.

Yeah

How many guys have they developed since the core?

Looney but they didn’t even pick up his option and had to move him from sf to c

That’s….not exactly repeatable

I’m sure nuggets fans will blame it on 2nd night of b2b

I’m honestly curious how many teams have a winning record on game 2
I’d b2bs

(Especially if they’re the only one doing it)

They will have over 30m in expiring deals this summer

Great time for a sign and trade

Big mle

They will have the core pieces

Ideally find a cheap backup c for some looney minutes and you’re off

Wash might win the most with a 2029 first

But still….

yep

The top 5 pick was a chance to extend the window even longer

that said it's impressive it went this long.

They could’ve traded down as well

But it was a top 3 draft

But I just wasn’t a wiseman guy

They drafted for need rather than bpa

And taking raw projects also made it harder for them

To be fair there wasn’t much available veterans wise that fit the roster

Brunson was cooking Batum last night. They need to learn from last night’s Knick game
- they’re putting themselves in no man’s land again like they did with Doc on help defense. They leave shooters to react to dribble drive but the help isn’t good enough to impact the ball and they set into motion a rotation that gets beat by movement for open threes. Knicks shot great and credit to them but often when you let a team go off like that it isn’t “luck”. It’s bad rotations. Somewhat better in 2H but damage was done and adjustment wasn’t enough.
- No Melton and Harris left with an ankle that had slowed him. Those guys would have helped but the Sixers clearly need more. Just not enough around Embiid/Maxey. They need more than another middle of the road wing and a back up ball handler if they are serious about competing with Boston and Milwaukee.
- Marcus Morris and Danuel House can’t play. Every so often they’ll give you a 12–16 pt night but they can’t keep up defensively. Game changed last night when Morris and House checked in.

I'd be stunned if Philly doesn't make another move. Just waiting closer to deadline I'm sure to see whats there.

They have options and I’m impatient haha. I want a splash move like Dejounte Murray and Boggy over something small. The guy needs to be a legit 3rd option that can bring defense and 3pt shooting. Ideally they send Morris and RoCo and find a way to keep Harris. If they make the move now with the three firsts available and the expiring deals they have the ability to use any cap savings to do Bird rights on resigning Harris, Melton, Oubre, and Maxey’s Max.

This is my flavor of the week trade haha

IMG_3856.png

This gives them Maxey Murray (2 combo guards that can play on ball/off ball) Batum Tobias Embiid starting
Bench of Melton, Oubre, Boggy, Pat Bev, BBall Paul. Pat Bev may not be in the playoff rotation. Tobias Harris can come down to a 28-30 minute guy. They might be able to get a dude like Drummond for BBall Paul and a 2nd plus salary filler back from Chicago.

I’d go to war with that group.
