He tried, then Gores said, “Wait a minute while I back this truck of money into your driveway and then decide.”
And, to me, it looks like he is taking the year off.
This is essentially the equivalent of a player taking the Super Max and demanding a trade the year the extension kicks in.

Nah.

You gone see this shit through or give back the rest of your deal.

It’s created a dilemma that we can’t even tell how shitty a GM Weaver is because even the lack of talent is being so spectacularly misused.

Monty finally started phasing the bench in yesterday. It took 34 games but hey....he got there.
But he phased it until it was all 5 on the floor instead of doing it all at once. Also, Livers started the game actually playing well and Monty sat him for Knox in under 4 minutes. Unless a guy is flailing like he’s having a seizure there is no reason to pull anyone in under 4 minutes.

We did that last year and ended up with the worst pick we could get (#5) and got a guy who will likely be the best player on the team and Monty won’t play him and when he does uses him as a spot up shooter (which is his major weakness).

SO MANY turnovers. HORRIBLE 3 pt shooting. Poor scoring night from Lebron. Lakers were shorthanded too, but nobody close to the magnitude of Butler of course. If you see JHS getting minutes without the game already decided, you know the Lakers are shorthanded lol.

That's why I push back some on the "Fire Ham" stuff. He took a roster that was completely overhauled from a 7 seed to the WCF. Now he has a roster, a good amount of which was overhauled in the off-season.

The biggest difference is that roster last year was healthy, this one hasn't been.

While I do think he needs to calm down some on the lineup/rotation changes (at least when the team is close to healthy), I have yet to see him commit a turnover, miss a 3 or miss free throws...that shit is on the players.

I think you could get an NWA cd if they negotiate well. Why settle for Cube when you can get NWA?

whoa, Whoa, WHOA…

That would be a Danny Ainge level coup.

MC Ren or DJ Yella is really the best they could hope for….lol

If they do that, I think I might have an old Supertramp cd I'd be willing to throw in if they need it.

Did he or did they get to the WCF despite his shortcomings?

Kinda impossible to say.

That's the problem with firing him now. We don't really know.

We know he took an overhauled, but healthy roster to the WCF, but as you say, was it in spite of him? I know I don't remember anyone calling for his head last year.

On the other hand, is he the reason they're struggling or is it the injuries that have guys in and out of the lineup?

He probably shouldn't have been the one to say it...but he is correct when he says it's difficult to have consistency when guys you're counting on are out.

Example...folks have been talking about JHS...but if they're healthy, he isn't getting the minutes he got last night.

No, it's really not.

They are both post players and in today's game you need a PF or C (if not both) that can step outside and hit an outside shot.

Thanks for your input though.

AD absolutely has that skill set.

He has often best fit with the Lakers at the 5 because of a lack of perimeter shooting at other spots on the roster.

But AD’s preferred position is 4 and he definitely shoots well enough to play 4 alongside a traditional 5 as long as you don’t have other non-shooters out there too.
