I think if this was year one then you would have a point. We are entering probably year 4 of this but yeah it is a gm thing. Telling sign will be end of year awards if bam is great on that side of the ball as he always is.

Depends, imo. We know he can hit them and he shot 34% one season. If he can be at about 35-36%, it would open up the paint.

But, if he's shooting it like he has the past couple of seasons, that plan should be scrapped fast.

If they want him to play the 4 for most of the season, he's gonna have to shoot them. It's gonna clog things up too much with a traditional center out there and him on the floor. But I personally think they're fucking up letting him play the 4 anyway. Since he's been a Laker, every line up, both offensively and defensively, with him at the 5 is the most efficient. Get him a back up center to share the load in the regular season to limit wear and tear, sure. That's great. But you're hampering yourself if you're playing AD at PF most of the time. Despite what he wants to do, he's better as a center.
