I’m not pimping for Harden. I’m pushing back on this idea that he’s some negative asset that can’t bring back value in a trade.

Well if he was viewed as an asset to any GM some team would have stepped up and traded for him. But that hasn't happen and doubt that it will.

He's still damn good. But at this stage of his career he's damaged goods. Just look at his lousy playoff numbers. He can't be trusted when it matter most.

As always with these discussions, each side makes a strawman case to knock down. No one is saying he's a negative asset. And no one including you is saying he's some hugely desirable asset. The obvious truth is he's worth less than the Sixers (and you) want. So things will wait until the Sixers decide to take less than they want. Or perhaps they will get lucky and some team will lose their PG and feel like they need to bid more.

That's how markets work.

If the Clippers won't offer Mann, they don't value Harden enough apparently. Not sure what other team would step up at this point. Taking a chance on trading for him and not being able to keep him happy is a valid concern.

The report that he told the Rockets he was going to try to lead the league in scoring isn't going to help matters unless someone just wants a diversion on a team doesn't expect to compete otherwise.

The other problem is besides the lakers and clippers, the good teams are set at pg

If that’s where he wants to play that’s an issue

But he’s been a stud as a 2 before

The way the lakers and clippers need to stagger star minutes to stay healthy for April both could use harden

The only question is price

LOL. In the 2 games vs the Lakers, they still had him out there in the 4th against the G-leaguers, padding those stats. 3 pt shooting percentage is great though.
Whatever offense he gives them is gravy IMO. They need him to be a lockdown defender like Iggy was in his prime.

For what it's worth, I don't think anyone on this site has ever said DLo is better than Harden. He's just a better fit.

Getting Harden wouldn't be any different than having Westbrook on the team. He's just not a good fit with guys like AD and Lebron.

Yeah, but funbags is in feels over Harden, so he's making shit up.

I can't say I noticed him being a lockdown defender (but it is preseason). They seem to be trying to build up his confidence with first the Summer League and now preseason.

I'd say that as long as they have a healthy Lebron, the Lakers are set at PG as well.

yeah i'm out on DLo now.

i thought his breakout in 2019 was real.

But it appears that was just a mirage.

And there's a reason the lakers made him waive the cba clause to come back....they're looking to move his salary in a bigger deal.

They're keeping that option open, but I don't know that it's for a bigger deal necessarily. It's just preseason, but he's clearly put in work this offseason. He's putting in solid effort on defense and he's been shooting great thus far.

i mean more for his matching salary.

They need it based on the construction of the roster.

Understood, but I don't know that the Lakers have other players they're looking to potentially move. I think they were just protecting themselves re: D-Lo, retaining the asset while not getting locked in unnecessarily. His salary was inflated when he re-signed with the Nets, basically to solidify him as a trade asset.

This obviously isn't NBA related but very cool.

NFLer Calais Campbell just got his 100th career sack.

To celebrate he's donating $100,000 to teachers in Phoenix, Baltimore, Jacksonville & Atlanta. The cities he's played in.

25 teachers are getting $500 a piece for classroom resources.

Also educators in Denver, where he went to high school. And Miami, where he played in college. Will get 20K to help the classrooms.
