How do trade exceptions work? Sixers have 6.8 million available from the Harden deal. Does that mean they can ship out less salary than they bring back in a trade?

I think you can take someone into the exception but not exceed it. YOu cant send like a 5 million dollar player and get an 11M dollar player if I am not mistaken
