O.K. if that is true then why the focus on Redick when as you say there are tons of options out there who would fill the HC position similar to or better than a guy like Hurley??
Sone teams think they have to have a splash, or at least the appearance of trying to make one. Get a basketball guy and stick with him.
This is where a team can really help a young coach by helping him put the right staff around him.
I agree. But the Lakers often get caught- up in the big splash players and coaches when sometimes what they want is among the less glitzy candidates.

Cannot say I have followed Borrego's career that closely but if memory serves would seem like it would be tough to know exactly what he is or wants to be coaching only one team that was not very good.
If so, he would be best off going to LA if an offer is made. May only have to work 1-2 years.
Coaches have coaching styles, whether they coached for a long time or they learned from others. He was an assistant under Pop. Spurs teams also have slower paces so I mean...it is what it is. It doesn't mean he is a better coach than Atkinson. My entire point was fit will matter a lot when hiring a coach.
I hear ya....and my point was I prefer a coach who can adjust his style based on his players and how they might fit/play together. Has there not been a coach who coached under Pop to run a faster pace when his situation called for it?
