If he ends up there I'll certainly hope he plays well for themI’ll allow you to become a heat fan
I’ll take him on the MLE to play alongside Embiid/Maxey/Hield. Any financial commitment beyond that? I’m out. For any real money commitment I’d rather watch the Clippers fumble away PG13.Price point is key here. Also matters a bit if Klay finally accepts what his role should be.
Today is Tyrese Maxey celebration day for me. This is the guy who shot 29% from 3 in year one. In year 4, he’s been chosen to compete in the 3 point contest in an All Star weekend where he has earned his spot on the real All Star team and not just competing in the contest. This guy has survived Ben Simmons going AWOL and him being thrust into playing the point guard position, a position he had never played before. Then he went back to being an off ball guy when Harden came. He survived Doc Rivers and the coach who is universally known for leaving young players undeveloped to continue an improvement arc every year for 4 years making huge leaps forward each year. He survived the turmoil of Doc bringing him off the bench and then telling the world it was Tyrese’s idea when it wasn’t. He did all of this while being a great teammate with an eternal smile and loads of optimism. I’m glad the young basketball fans of Philly have a role model that’s teaching them how to navigate life the right way. Don’t sulk. Go work harder.
Happy Tyrese Maxey Day to all who celebrate!
Yeah....It’s just laughably dishonest to say rivers didn’t develop him
Drew Hanlon and Sam Cassell are the coaches responsible for his growth. He has grown despite Doc not because of Doc.It’s just laughably dishonest to say rivers didn’t develop him
Calipari doesn’t play a system where he has a 1 and 2. He plays a system where there is no PG or SG. They’re just guards asked to score and playmake. He also was a pg at kentucky

He had no trust in him early on. They had a string of Covid games where he was forced to play him for a lack of bodies and Maxey impressed. He got himself 10-12 minutes a game but was abandoned in the playoffs his rookie year. Doc gives him the keys because Simmons wasn’t around because he was all he had. Then less than a year later tells him he can’t start next to Harden after averaging 23 a game next to him. He overcame Doc. Doc wasn’t the impetus.I think that is a somewhat fair assessment.
Head coaches usually enable player development (or fail to) but they are not the ones doing that work at the NBA level.
I could make a case for all those players except Dame and Hali. Both aren’t top 10 players. Are these the ten best players in the league?

Yep insert Mitchell and Steph and that could very well be the top 10 players in the leagueDonovan Mitchell has better numbers. 28.4 ppg, 5.4 rebs, 6.3 asts, 1.9 stls (47.3% shooting / 36.1 from downtown)
Dame. 24.6, 4.1, 6.7, 1.0 (42.3% and 34.1%)
Well I mean Steph is in the West. I was just referencing the top 10 players in the league. Mitchell might not be top 10 but he is in the conversation. Steph is a no-brainer.With Steph & Spida that's a lethal starting five.
