IDK.

If you take Swift (any top tier RB) at the bottom of the 1st vs top of the 2nd.

1st rd
  • 5 yr control at a reasonable rate
  • Ability to tag
  • 6 yrs or production with only 1 yr top RB pay

2nd rd

  • 4 yr control at a better rate
  • Ability to tag
  • 5 yrs of production with 1 yr top RB pay.
true forgot about that lil caveat there, great point

a poll of 1000 steelers fans show an overwhelming majority would like them to draft a RB with their top pick.

Also that majority have zero interest in jameis winston, wtf is the wrong with them.....

That has to be a lack of confidence vote in Conner...right? I don't expect Ben to throw it 50 times a game, but I don't sense RB is going to make or break the season

I think if they thought QB2 was going to play 13 games or whatever like LY...Winston would be leading I think...but 30 INTs is hard to live down!!

Wasn’t peppers who was sent to the giants supposed to be the same as people are saying about Simmons?
Yeah I can see Giants passing on Simmons because they already have Peppers. I think the Giants trade down a few spots or grab a OL at #4

what happend to all the jacob eason hype
Whats funny is that he is totally the type of QB that would go top 5 ten years ago. GMs are smarter now, though. You don't want Jameis Winston or Jay Cutler.

Heck, even if he is the next Drew Bledsoe you have to think that the Patriots immediately got better when they replaced Bledsoe and so did the Cowboys. Big arm, okay decision making, no mobility just isn't today's NFL.

If Eason sits for 2 years somewhere then maybe he could develop into a good QB. I like Indy as a fit.

Well Kiper seems to think if Hurts makes it to pick #49 that "is" the pick for the Pitt Steelers.

Rather have jameis
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette considers the Steelers unlikely to pursue free agent Jameis Winston as Ben Roethlisberger's backup.
Pittsburgh has been a popular choice when people brainstorm Winston destinations, but reporter Brian Batko considers it unlikely for a number of reasons. Winston has drawn Roethlisberger comparisons at times throughout his career, but Big Ben has never been quite as erratic on the field. So far, Winston's market has seemed cold as ice, but he is a starting-level talent who will instantly become one of the league's best backups as soon as he signs. As the Steelers learned the hard way in 2019, they badly need an upgrade behind Roethlisberger.

NFL Mock Draft 2020: Colts, Patriots make surprise trades for QBs; Browns move up inside top 10

This is what I am hoping the Browns do. I don't expect Miami to trade up though.
I hope that you are right they don't need to do this. I'd rather no QB than trading up at 5. I don't mind either Tua or Herbert at 5 if they want to swing but no trading up. Even better trade back a few spots and take an OT or QB there. They can then move up at 18 if necessary without losing anything.
