Also former Steelers backup QB Landry Jones, 4th Rd draft pick in 2013, got signed to the XFL before the draft.

Surprised that a lot of those names were out of the NFL already.

Agreed. Not a bad way to go though. Get paid for doin what you love, and keeps you fresh in case the NFL comes calling. Also not a bad way to get noticed by the NFL.

I recognize some of the names from doing mock NFL drafts too. Some underdeveloped talent lurking...

Landry Jones to the Dallas Renegades: He is reunited with his former college coach Bob Stoops.

Cardale Jones to the DC Defenders: The former Ohio State quarterback played in one NFL game for the Buffalo Bills in 2016. He's 6-5, 250

Phillip Walker to the Houston Roughnecks: Threw 74 touchdown passes for Temple from 2013-16.

► Luis Perez to the L.A. Wildcats: Played impressively for the Birmingham Iron in the now-defunct Alliance of American Football earlier this season.

I was wondering why I wasn't seeing Chad Kelly's name and it turns out he's on Indy's practice squad. Wow. Irsay and him must be a blast.

IDK...they couldn't make a CFL roster apparently.... CFL pays more, so I'd assume they would try that first

Hoping the XFL works out... the only reason I watch College is to see players that are going to be in the NFL (or have a shot). XFL would basically be the same thing. There definitely could be some guys that stay in football shape through the XFL that could go to the NFL. That said, I'm not sure the XFL will get the funding needed through advertising/TV to sustain itself. Hopefully it does.

Unless they bring in real names no one cares. Open the checkbook for Kapernick, talk Antonio Bryant, Dez, Ochocinco and TO into playing.

I'd take Tim Tebow with my first pick. All he does is win.

Maybe they think because of the XFL being in its infancy that it will blow up to something bigger?

Exposure vs payment could mean getting back to the NFL faster. CFL is where careers go to die.

Ochocinco amd TO are 90 years old in athlete years. Might as well see if Montana and Rice wanna make a comeback.

Maybe...I don't think that's the right decision, though. They can't make a practice squad, and they think they can get back to the NFL? Yeah, sure...don't be a chump, and get that extra $30k in Canada.

I'm pledging my allegiance to the Tampa Bay Vipers. 4 Knights on that squad.
