Don't think he gets the triple crown, but if Prince starts dropping bombs on the regular, he is in store for a damn fine year

I had no idea Harrison was diagnosed with spondylolisthesis. No wonder conservative rehab didn't work.

Fraley mentioned something in his minor league report this morning that I was noticing last night while checking our minor league team's boxscores. We have a young pitcher named Frank Lopez pitching for the High Desert Mavericks. That league has some very high scoring games. I believe Scott Lucas mentioned the other day that the average score of the losing team in the Mavericks games so far was over 6 runs. Lopez is putting up numbers that would look very good in any league and that look great in that league.

Texas Rangers minor-league report | | Dallas Morning News

The conditions in the high Class A California League are not bothering LHP Frank Lopez. He gave up two runs in five innings and received a no-decision in High Desert’s 4-3 win in 11 innings against Lake Elsinore (San Diego.) In three starts, Lopez has a 2.81 ERA for 16 innings and has held opponents to a .224 average in 58 at-bats.

Pitching
2.98 team ERA
3.60 starter's ERA

It was no mystery to me.

Come join us during game time please.

And Rangers fans - not you jta - the days of acting like the Astro's are second class citizens in the AL West are over.

They still are. They won't keep this up all season and aside from a couple hitters their lineup is pure trash.

Combination of factors, under the weather lately, day games while I'm at work and being busy on the weekends

I've been lurking some, but my overall effort has been minimal

They aren't going to win the division; that's a given to me. I put no stock in "who's in first" etc at this time of year. Check back with me in the dog-days.

But they are no longer the ugly duckling, stepchild they once were. And their farm system is looking stout.

Correa, if he keeps hitting like he has, might see the big show this year and will probably improve SS play immediately

Jonathan Singleton is hitting again in AAA and if he's able to hit .250+ in the majors he improves that lineup

Springer will do better more than likely but he balances out the hot start by Marisnick

Altuve is Altuve

Castro is an above average catcher

And Gattis is bound to rebound eventually, he's just not that bad of a hitter

Lowrie will probably give them solid production at 3B if Correa ends up at the bigs at some point (probably not though)

Rasmus and their motely group of OFers will provide just enough

They have some guys off to really slow starts (Springer, Gattis & Carter) and other than Marisnick none off to really hot starts, it'll balance out in their favor more than likely

They aren't winning the division but they are going to be much better than last year and might finish below 90 losses this year, it all remains to be seen

Sorry to hear ya been semi-ailing. And understandable about scheduling.

But maybe last night was a "wake-up" game for us and we'll at least put a concerted offensive effort from this point forward.

I did get to see Fielder's blast and that was nice, passed out for the 9th though

Keuchel is one really good pitcher for the Astros though. Hope we miss that guy next time around.
