I did mention this deal a few months ago. Things have changed a bit now. Taveras and Teodo has more value now that they had then, and Speas is gone. Also, Diaz has about a year less, than he did then, before becoming a free agent.
From earlier discussions about possible trade scenarios for Alexis Diaz where they were looking for 2 or 3 top 100 prospects I would doubt the Reds would even respond to that offer
Even if traded, Diaz isn’t going anywhere until 2028He doesn’t become arbitration eligible until 2025

I cannot remember anyone reporting that, so I cannot comment on it.

At this point, the Rangers would not make that deal.

It was around the trade deadline. Doubt with our top 100 prospects being Carter, Langford, Walcott & Porter that we would consider giving up even 2 of them

Going offseason with this but would you do this trade: Dustin Harris 1B/DH & Marc Church RHP to Colorado Rockies for Justin Lawrence RHP
Lawrence got much better as the season went on. Had a great September. I saw him pitch against us in May. He was decent. Saw him pitch against the Pirates in May. He struck out the side.

His opposing batter OPS for September was .952.

I heard of rumors for someone with the ask being 2 top 100 prospects, but it wasn't him. I don't recall that about him at all. I don't even remember his name mentioned during the final couple of weeks before the deadline.

Not saying it didn't happen, just don't recall it.

He pitched in Colorado where the numbers tend to be up for pitchers. Would have to check he home and away splits. I would trade for him but it would have to be a little less than Mark Church and Dustin Harris.
I like the creativity from you and Scotsman1948. I love discussing hypothetical trades. I feel the team will prob have to do a trade or two to improve the bullpen.

Wasn’t my hypothetical trade idea. Several web sites are discussing trade scenarios and this one came up

We need Aragorn to speak to the guys in the clubhouse tonight.

Starting Grossman and batting him in the 3 hole in a must win game, is the last straw for me with Bochy. I don’t care if Carter is 0-50 and can’t hit LH pitching ever, he’s still the better LF/defender and Grossman is still batting close to .110 on the postseason. Bochy you are a stupid MF

I like our chances in Houston tonight if Eovaldi pitches like he has been. I imagine he’s feeling a lot of pressure. Hopefully Semien comes out of his slump because we really need him to be way more productive at the plate especially with runners on.

I don’t like Grossman batting 3rd or playing over Carter though.
