unless they bring in a stud COF'er, we are going to see a lot of Murphy until the end of the season. if he is not part of a trade he will be in Wash's game plan whether you or me or anyone else likes it or not.

Manny 2 for 5 with a HR 2k's 2 RBI. Lots of HR for RR today Solarte Adduci Olt mcGuiness and cunningham all homered as well

Yep, we have to quit thinking of them as some kind of lucky upstart. They are a good team. But if I remember correctly, SF and STL were both more than two games back the last three years at the break. We're not in a bad position and have had incredibly bad DL numbers, at some point the DL experience of the A's has to even out. And we should play even better the second half with more regulars off the DL and hopefully a good trade or two.

No, they're not. Which is why being two games back at the break means we're in great position with a lot of baseball still to play.

Except that Murphy has not been a mainstay in the middle of the order. He hasn't been labeled the face of the franchise. Murphy is a career 4th OF. The backlash wouldn't be nearly as bad.

Also, we're 2 games back not 4-6 games ahead. There's a little more urgency to improve the team.

i would love for after this all star break to have manny up in the bigs AND have garza.. Is there any feasible way of getting garza without trading our big 3 prospects?
