It is a hitters era. Ball juiced, players juiced, game rules favor HRs, mounds lower, ball parks, analytics/computer stats make batters more prepared. Think pitchers had the advantage more back then.

To me real question is who were Rangers best pitchers... Burt B and Hough were real good. Kevin B was an ace. Nolan was great. Have to include Fergie and Kenny. Yu was so talented, maybe best overall stuff. Pitchers these days don't pitch complete games.

Probably bit premature on a Sandler if he is saying this looks to be best. Very good solid rotation on paper if players rebound.

Some more who were good back in that era.

Matlack, Perry, Alexander, Medich, Ellis, Honeycutt. Steve Comer and Danny Darwin had their moments as well.

Part of it could be that pitchers were better back then.

That is a really big "if".

One thing to keep in mind is that over the last 3 months of the season, Mike Minor put up an ERA of 4.99.

There are "if's" in just about every scenario. IF Minor is our BOTR pitcher that may be a good rotation. As always time will tell as there are questions to be answered on just about all of these pitchers including Kluber.

Any early guesses about who pur top 3 starters will be when it is all said and done next fall?

I think I will go

Lynn. 3.50
Gibson. 3.80
Minor 3.90

Of course, my mind could be changed by Opening Day.

That is really tough. I do like Lynn based upon what he did during the year last year. But I am really hoping Kluber bounces back after his arm being rested for the year.
Kluber - 3.30
Lynn - 3.45
Gibson - 3.85

Looking for rebound from Kluber. Minor gets a bit more rest. Solid pitching will help the pen not be taxed as much. Let's see how our defense shakes up as this will be a factor. Wonder how the park plays as well.

If the Rangers do indeed see their window as already open, then I don't understand why they aren't pursuing Donaldson. I never wanted them to because I don't see it as open yet.

Minor 4.10
Lyles 4.35
Gibson 4.65

All I could find was this link and 2 more links in Spanish..
If anyone can read Spanish do these articles look like good info?

You never know when a window or door is going to open
