since 1919, only one Iowa State football coach has had a winning record at Iowa State... CFB Hall of Fame coach Earle Bruce who coached Iowa State from 1973–1978 before taking over for Ohio State, where he won four Big Ten Championships in an span of eight years (1979, 1981, 1984, 1986) and led Ohio State to a 81-26-1 record (75.5%), which was #7 in the NCAA and #1 in the Big Ten during that time.

At Iowa State, Earle Bruce was 24-11 over his last three seasons (68.6% win pct), which was #28 in the NCAA during that span (#16 for major conference schools). His 8-win seasons are the only times Iowa State has had 8 or more wins since 1906...other than Iowa State's magical 9-3 season in 2000 (led by 4th Round pick QB Sage Rosenfels, 3rd Round pick DE Reggie Hayward, 7th Round pick TE Mike Banks, 7th Round pick DT James Reed, etc)

If Texas runs the ball, they should be okay.
I think they ran the ball down ISU's throats the last time in a blowout.
They should not try and deviate from that gameplan.

Case McCoy is simply not a good quarterback.
The Texas offense really struggles without Ash.

Ash is a lot better quarterback than any hater will admit.
But feel free to crush baby McCoy. He does suck.

Hopefully, the Horns can get the RB group rolling downhill instead of McCoy's arm.

Need another QB for the rest of the year. McCoy wont cut it. Ash has head injury. He may never play again? So, got to burn the redshirt.

In todays football, only need a couple years anyway. If he's any good, wont play 4 years. So play him now.

Mack said they had packages or situations to put in Swoopes, from what I heard.

As for Mack, I don't think Texas fires him or pushes him out in the middle of the season. If he looses to ISU and OU, then I think he announces pretty soon after that he is resigning at the end of the season.

just my gut feeling, but I just don't see UT firing him/letting him go in the middle of the season and I don't think Mack is the kind that would step down in the middle of the season.
